Ahemji should have made the first move...no!?

Wouldn't it have been so much more nicer if Ahem ji had made the first move and kissed Gopi?
It would have been his acceptance of her as wife physically as we all know subconsciously he has accepted her as his dutiful wife.
Is it still too old fashioned to say the guy should make the first move?
What do you guys think? What are your views?
