I had a small thought today. After listening to the Ahem and Gopi conversation what struck me was the small piece that I always found missing in the GoKi relation. Let me try to explain.

Today, when Gopi explained to Ahem about Rashi and the pigeon she defended Rashi. Ahem listened to her PoV and then explained that it was still wrong to lie to his mother.
What I think struck me was that Ahem actually listens to Gopi and then explains to her his PoV like he does to a child. He, in a short span of time has come to understand Gopi better than Kokila. He seems to understand that Gopi is unique.. She cares a lot for others. Hence to make her look at the mistakes of others, a simple but logical explanation is needed.

That is one thing Kokila did not do.. She had her heart in the right place. She warns Gopi, threatens her even to stay away from Rashi for Gopi's own good but she never explains calmly (like Ahem did today) about why she wants it that way.. Hence Gopi has till now found it hard to adhere by her code. Its because Gopi never understood why..

But now Ahem explains to Gopi about why he is saying what he is saying. He treats her like an equal. And I guess that is because he has come to consider her as a friend and a wife..
Kokila has seen her as a bahu and daughter and hence expects Gopi to just follow her words without question.
I am not saying Kokila is wrong. That is why she is the MIL.
But I will give 100 marks to Ahem for this change. He is a true saathiya...
I never intended the post to be this big.. 😳 Let me know what you think..

I so agree with you. It was so meaningful that small conversation between them... He was listening to every word she was saying, which as you rightly pointed out, Kokila has never done. Somethings need to be said and heard.. Kokila doesn't really know how much Gopi cares for Rashi...and Gopi never heard Kokila reasons for being strict. But Ahem today...Swoon...he was like a total buddy to her. If you noticed he was stern when he said that if Rashi isn't wrong his mom ain't either and Rashi shouldn't have lied to his mom...But his anger was at Rashi and not at Gopi.

And the moment he saw that maybe Gopi had taken his words onto herself..he calmed her down saying that they will figure out something and she shouldn't be scared. I love this about Ahem... he has picked up a lot about her...She gets scared about the smallest things even when it is not her fault...He immediately asks her to not be afraid. She starts crying very easily and he asks her to stop crying... A lot of these small moments that the creatives have build...

The story may have slowed down a bit but they are making sure that the Gohem relationship keeps moving forward...sometimes fast, sometimes slow...but it keeps moving in the forward direction..which I absolutely love about this show.

Could he be the one to bring about the change in Gopi and mould her to how he wants her. After all she is listening to what he has to say and no doubt will follow his words.

I think your aim is spot on. Gopi has been made to believe Rashi is right and she is wrong. So that is what Gopi does...defend Rashi...
Hopefully with the right kind of guidance from her Ahemji she will slowly start to open her eyes and see the true nature of everyone around her. In some ways she is a child herself and our dear Ahem has just now realized that he needs to talk to her as a five year old.

You are absolutely right this was also my first thought when he said it is not mom's fault either then went on to remind her of Koki's ealier words when she said birds are better of flying freely in open air.
He is telling her not everything Rashi does is true, and I think his words will have more impact then Koki's threats.

I really hope so.. He is her husband after all and is the right person to help her at all times.. And because he now seems to understand her he can make sure that he teaches her the ways of the world without Gopi losing the true spirit of innocence.

Opps Harini I think I posted the reply in another thread where you left a comment, I will try and past the same here. I also liked the way he diverted Koki's attention rather than play into the lie that was forming, clearly showing his maturity and conviction.
he put her right, defending Raashi despite knowing that the act was wrong how could she say Raashis was not at fault again unwittingly demonising Koki who has been very upfront about her likes nad dislikes and consequences for straying from those.
He did not put her on the defensive and yet did not let his mum down I think Ahem is now starting to walk the tight rope without falling down.
Gopi has to learn not to let he neivette and emotionality (if that is a word) get in the way of ascertaining right from wrong and I think this is where ahem can help she thinks with her heart and he with his head. While she can teach him to empathise he can definitely guide her away from being gullible

Love your post. It is so true, for the first time someone has actually listened to Gopi and then explained it from another pesons POV. He also pointed out to Gopi that Rashi lied whereas Gopi said that Rashi had just covered up the error(or words to this effect). In the short conversation he was able to make Gopi see the error of Rashi's way. Gopi really needs someone like Ahem to start explaining things like this to her so she is not so naive.

👏 Well said especially the one in bold.. I totally agree. Ahem and Gopi are moving towards a more meaningful relation than the other couples. Unlike RaJi who I think have not yet grasped the importance, GoHem are going through a chapter of understanding that will become the foundation for their marriage going forward..

I agree & also tell you that I was about to post a smilar post...not only today but all thru their getting together...he treats her as a child...he goes to her level of understanding to explain things & he enjoys doing it...
There are instances where like telling her to take care during the accident track, scolding her for asking for work etc...it clearly showed he treats her like a small child who understands things when clearly explained...may be the education track did give him that exposure to understand her...even during the navratri time, when she wanted water, he again scolded her like a small child saying cant you ask me !!!
Other thing is that when both enjoy their time together they look like teenagers enjoying their timeout...well koki's makes us also believe that is a different story !!!
