As he neared, he could make out a thin slender figure sitting with knees folded and head resting on them!

"is that you geet?", he asked mentally, "please jahan bhi ho…just come back!"

He was a few steps away when suddenly he felt his legs become heavy and he slowed down to a tortoise pace! What if its not her? where will he find her? at this time of night? Pata nahi kis haal mein hogi…kahan hogi…kiske saath hogi? He kept praying under his breath when suddenly,

"aaacchhhii…"

A faint sound of a sneeze caught his ears. He got alert…it was so familiar…his chest tightened with fear…anticipation…uncertainty….

He walked to that bench and and his breath got stuck in his throat! He gulped hard seeing her…sitting there lifelessly in that cold! Her knees were folded upto her chest and her head rested on them! He never felt this relieved or peaceful in his entire life he wondered…..it felt like life was returning back to him! He excitedly went and sat near her!

"geet…" he slowly called her name.

There was no response. He panicked for a moment..he held her shoulders and shook her slightly. She turned her face towards him…with her eyes closed! He was shocked to see that condition of hers…her face…it had turned almost white with the cold..her lips were trembling…tear streaks on her cheeks..ohh god what has he gone and done? He inched closer and caressed her cheek realizing she was asleep!

He gently called out her name, "geet…utho.."

He wanted to hug her right there and then! It was all his fault..hadn't it been his stubbornness geet wouldn't have been in such a condition!

She quivered with his voice and her lips trembled to say something, "i…i..am so…sorry Maan..maaf kardo…"

Even the tiniest of his uncertainty got clarified..he was the one sole responsible for this condition of hers….tears rolled out of his eyes! What has he done? Preeto's words did come back to him, "use kabhi akela mat chidna Maan..wo toot jayegi!"

How right she was….how foolish could he be to have not realized this earlier? Guilt ate into him…she is just so tough from outside…but he knew how sensitive her innerself was…how could he forget? He felt as if his heart was just going to burst open with the pain he was feeling now! If this was the case with his own self realization then what would happen to him when he fathoms the pain she had been going through all these days?

His tracne was broken by her constant murmuring,"Maan..a..a..am sorry.."

Ohh lord, he can't take that. its him who needs to apologise and not her. but 1^st he needed to wake her up and get her to a warm place!

"geet…geet..wake up..see I'm here…am sorry….utho geet.."

She didn't respond…rather stuck to her apologies. He tried again louder but nothing seemed work..she was in some other world altogether!!! He was getting scared now. He started patting her cheeks, "geet…utho..please..open your eyes…we need to go!"

When she didn't respond to his calls this time too, he just held her shoulders and shook her furiously, "just open your eyes damn it! I can't see you like this! WAKE UP GEET!"

And her eyes snapped open! She was startled! For a moment she looked here and there unable to understand what was going on when her eyes fell on him, standing right in front of her!

"M..Maan.." she could barely whisper! Was he for real? Was he really in front of her? Talking to her? He was there for her?

Immediately tears clouded her eyes…..what if she is imagining things? One blink and all gone! What if he walks away again? What if he doesn't talk to her?

He looked ay her and gave a faint smile, trying to suppress his tears!

"ghar challein.." he asked softly!

He went and stood in front of her waiting for her to get up! But she didn't! she just kept staring at him….without even a blink..

"geet…"

"are you really here?" she cut him in between!

He felt every muscle of his contract with the pain in her voice! It felt like 1000s of needles pricking him painfully all over his body! She was waiting for him all these days….he just couldn't see that in front of his big fat ego!

Tears didn't stop their journey from both their eyes as he fell on his knees in front of her. she was still sitting on the bench!

"are you really here?" she asked again ever so innocently..he wondered how on earth god could create such a beautiful angel…and he had become so much of a devil that he was almost going to destroy that angel sitting in front of him! He wanted to say sorry for all his doings..he gently cupped her face with his palms and nodded, "yes..I AM HERE…shall we go home?"

Her happiness knew no bounds..there was no inhibitions or hesitations..she so much wanted to hear that one line from his lips, "I AM HERE…." She just slid off the bench and literally fell on him hugging him as tight as possible….it felt as if she was alive again…feeling that warmth in hs embrace….his hands tightly holding her…engulfing her tender self in his cocoon…she cried almost burying herself into him!

"am sooo sorry…am so sorry Maan…please maaf kardijiye… agli baar aisa kabhi nahi karungi..pakka promise…but please aap aise naraz mat hona…please..am soo sorry!!"

She clutched his jacket tightly and opulling him closer and closer even when there was no space between them even for light to pass..as if she was trying to make herself sure that he wasn't walking away again!

He could do nothing but hold her tight and cry silently for the damage he had caused! Her one hug told him everything that she been through all these days…

"aap mujhe daant dena…but don't stop talking okay..am sorry please forgive me.. Maan!"

He felt a bliss hearing his name from her lips..he kissed her hair….relieved to find her safe and sound..but he stiil needs to apologize and make up for the pain he had caused to her!

"chup…bilkul chup.." his voice was soft..she melted instantly…as if she wasn't before!

"you needn't be sorry….it's me who had avoided you," his voice was breaking, " I made you cry..am sorry geet..mein bahut bura hoon na…I'm so so so sorry!"

She listened to him sobbing, still her hands wrapped around his neck and her entire self resting on him.

"sniff…aap bure nahi ho…" she made a baby face, her eyes still glistening with tears. It was the cutest way of saying something even in that intense situation! He wondered from where does that charm comes within her even after being hurt so badly..he was scared to death to think of her losing that charm just because of him!! But she did surprise him big deal! He took a deep breath in and smiled after so many days.

He was still on his knees and she in his embrace…her entire body weight resting on him! Time stood still….they could have stayed there like that for eternity…he kept caressing her hair softly and she neither loosened her grip on him nor did she move. She never felt this bliss in so many years…she wanted to cherish that moment forever and ever!

They just stayed calm and quiet feeling each other's thumping heartbeats without saying anything!!!

Their silence was disturbed by a call on Maan's cell. It was Rahul asking about geet!

Maan:…don't worry..i found her and she is safe…am taking her home! You wanna see her? meet us outside her flat..we are reaching there!

He tried to take off his jacket and put it around her but sadly she didn't move! She stayed in his arms like a little baby refusing to let go of her mother!

He shook his head and smiled. But it was getting colder….they needed to get back.

"geet" he called out her name ever so softly…wow it was like heaven to him now!

"umm.."

"thand nahi lag rahi? Lets get back!"

"hmm…" she had closed her eyes!

He tried to get up but it was difficult with her being in his arms. He tried getting her hands off his neck so that he could stand but the moment he tried to move, she twitched her brows in dismay and her hands locked around him even tighter!

He almost laughed, "pagal hain!!!"

He finally managed to stand up carrying her in his arms. She very meticulously adjusted herself in his arms….her hands still holding him tight and her head resting on his chest with her eyes closed!

He walked towards the car…that was a long way and she was looking weak!

"geet.."

"hmmm.."

He rolled his eyes…since when did she become like him? Only answering in monosyllables "hmmm" and "umm"!! oyee wait..did he just accept that?? gosh this girl had made him go insane!

"soo rahi ho?"

"hmm" she said drowsily!

He hurried up his pace so that they could reach early!

After sometime,

"suniye na…" she said in her sleep!

"kya hua?"

"please thoda dheere chaliye!!"

He raised his brows, "huh?? Kyun? Thand badh rahi hain geet!"

"aap meri sleep disturb kar rahe ho!" she complained cutely!

Uff this girl…he mentally smacked his head…he couldn't do it physically, now could he?

He slowed down his pace and she snuggled closer…as if there was any more space left!

By the time they reached near the car, she had completely dozed off. He placed her gently on the front passenger seat, pulling the backrest lower to her comfort, closed all the windows AND DROVE OFF.

Throughout the drive he kept called up preeto and informed about geet and asked her to pass the same to MM. preeto was the happiest person there. She couldn't stop thanking him a million times!!!

IN FRONT OF GEET'S FLAT

As Maan's car pulled in, Rahul and Dan ran towards it. Maan slowly got out to meet their questioning eyes! He smiled and whispered, "shhh she is sleeping inside" and pointed his thumb towards her side!

The 3 slowly opened the door to her geet's side and heaved a sigh of relief seeing her sleeping peacefully with a smile tingling her lips! The 3 smiled and gently closed the door and immediately Rahul and Dan smacked Maan's either shoulders hard!!!

"OUCHHH….." he screamed!!

Rahul and Dan: SHHH…

Maan (whispering): ohh sorry…now, ouch...what was that for?

Dan: for making her cry!

Rahul: and now what are you waiting for you moron…go take her to her flat! You seriously have a lot to make up for.

Dan: and I think we should get going!

And he winked at Rahul unnoticed by Maan.

Maan was so overwhelmed by the gestures..he just hugged both of them!!!

Maan: you guys are the best…you know that!

Rahul (making faces): yeah yeah…okay …fine..(yawn) lets get back Dan! Its already 3am..stupid fellow destroyed our sleep!

As they left, Maan gently carried her to her flat where he found MM waiting for both of them!

She let them inside geet's flat and he softly placed her on her bed. He turned to leave when she just held his hand, "you are leaving me again?"

Hs expressions changed into a painful one, "tum soyi nahi?"

"why are you leaving me again?" she was asleep but her heart knew his every movement!

He looked at her face…tears already brimming at the corner of her eyes. And he realized the result of his doings…a fear had settled over her heart of him leaving her alone…not talking to her…his walking away…he closed his eyes in pain! She feared losing him!

He kneeled down by her bed and placed a kiss on her forehead!

"am not leaving okay…I'm here…just here!"

Immediately her expressions softened. She held his hand and slept off!!!
