Deepika Singh debuted in the world of Indian television as Sandhya with Shashi Sumeet Mittal Productions Pvt Ltd's show Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus. The show is doing great and is dignifiedly perched second on the TRP chart. Her chemistry with co-star Anas Rashid (Suraj) is being loved by the masses.
"I am so happy that my first show is doing so well. I want to thank my fans for loving my character. I am on cloud nine right now," says the elated lady.
Recently, during the success party of her show, she looked stunning and posed elegantly for shutterbugs wearing a sexy blue dress. So is she a party freak? "No not at all. I am from Delhi and shifted to Mumbai for work. I usually work till late in the evening and go back home and rest. The success party was the second event I attended since I started working in Diya Aur Baati Hum," Deepika goes on to say.
She might not be a party kind of person, but she is definitely enjoying the new found fame and appreciation. "Yes, so far so good. I am enjoying it but I know I have to focus on my work. Fame will follow when you work well."
Quite a smart girl, we must say. Usually, one needs to struggle and work hard a lot to get a break in the entertainment industry. There are even aspiring actors who have to face the menace of casting couch. So, has she been through any similar experience? "Luckily, not in Mumbai. But in Delhi there were people who used to act a bit fancy with me. However, I am a no nonsense girl and if I feel someone is crossing the lines, I just tell them to buzz off," she informs.
