can anyone tell me the meaning of each one of the saat pheras? jassi explained the meaning of the first two yesterday. there is a similar scene in 'hum dil de chuke sanam' where aishwarya explains the meaning of the saat pheras to salman, but i can't remember. also, i've noticed in movies that during the first few pheras, the husband leads the wife, after that they exchange places and the wife walks in front. what is the significance of that?

i don't know the meaning in details! but in all hindu marriages saat pheras are must. in hindu religion, we believe that if you walk seven steps with a person you become his/her companion!it is called "saptapadi". sapta means saat and padi meand steps!! for this reason husband and wife walk together for 7 times. they do it in front of fire, because they make fire the witness of this. fire or agni is the most sacred thing in hindu religion. so in front of sacred fire walking 7 steps together they become companion to each other for the whole life. 😃!
