| Vishal started out with a two-month diet custom-made for him by a Goa-based nutritionist Harpreet Pasricha, who he interacted with online. Here's Pasricha's personalised diet plan: Date: February 13 to 23
Early Morning: Mix 1/2 a glass of warm water, a bunch of coriander leaves and 1 tsp fenugreek (methi) seeds. Grind and strain.
Breakfast: 8.30 am 1 cup slim milk, 2 tbsp oats porridge, 5 almonds, 2 dates and 1 orange.
Midday:10.30 am 1 roti with a vegetable or one vegetable sandwich and fresh lime water.
Lunch: 2 pm 1 plate of salad (10 minutes before lunch), 3 Besan Flour roti with a vegetable.
Evening: 6 pm One cup slim milk and 1 boiled egg.
Dinner: 7.30 pm 1 bowl of vegetable soup, 2 Oat Flour rotis with a vegetable.
Before sleeping: Repeat morning drink. Please check your weight early in the morning the day you start the diet, and keep a check on it. If you experience pain in any of your joints when you wake up in the morning, let your doctor/dietician know. This diet permits 2 cups of tea (if required) in a day with 1/2 tsp sugar. He may be off the diet now, but here's how he continues to eat healthy: Vishal is currently shooting for Ek Ladki Anjani Si on Sony, but finds it hard to digest set food. Most of the times, it is fried or oily fare on the menu, which is a big diet no-no. "I usually carry a dabba from home, and prefer eating tiny portions throughout the day," he says, breaking down his current meal pattern for us:
Breakfast: Three egg whites with 1 yolk, and cereal with milk. Brunch: Any fruit except mangoes. Lunch: A typical home-cooked meal like dal, rice and Chicken Curry. Between 4 pm and 6 pm: A glass of protein shake. Dinner: A light dinner usually consisting of Grilled Chicken or a pasta and salad. When he eats out Eating out is a big temptation, and can easily ruin your diet. But it's important to break the rules at least once a week." Here's what he avoid: Fried starters Instead: Order a soup and salad Avoid: Fattening gravies Instead: Order a grilled dish Avoid: Alcohol or sweet lime soda, ice tea and aerated drinks. Instead: Order soda with a slice of lime, a diet cola or iced water. Vishal's top 5 tips Don't eat sweets every day. Avoid eating carbohydrates (rice, potatoes)at night Avoid fried foods. Pick one day of the week to eat only fruits. It will detoxify your system. Exercise regime Like most celebrities, Vishal has a personal trainer, Juser. "A personal trainer isn't a status symbol. He plays multiple roles of a fitness instructor, gym buddy and motivator. Exercising on your own can be dangerous." Weight training: Thrice a week, every alternate day.
