She surely owes him much more than such reckless evaluation. Of a person; who had no personal stack involved, who had showed only a compassionate humanity initially and later on a benevolent emotional attachment only. Why would he subject her to any mala fide- or even a careless- humiliation? In fact, could it not be that precisely a humiliation is what he was trying to shield/spare them from, with his collaborative silence? She fails to see this blatantly in fit of self-righteousness.
