Do you feel being an Ash look-alike has been a bonus for you in Bollywood?
I am a big admirer of Aishwarya Rai for her work and achievements in the film industry but to be very honest I am not really happy being compared to her for my looks. I want to have my own individuality. What can I do if I look like her? I don't want to be so but can't change my looks now. I love to be known and recognized for my own work and achievements.
What if you are given a role to portray Ash's duplicate?
I am open to any role that's reasonable and rational but I don't want to be recognized as an Ash look-alike, for sure.
Have you ever met Aishwarya in real life?
I have met her once at a function and she met me with all respect and warmth. I liked it very much. To be true, in the beginning I wanted to avoid her but then I changed my mind and went and said "Hi" to her.
What do you admire Aishwarya Rai for?
I think she has moved from strength to strength and reached at this stage in her career. After meeting her I realized she is very warm and friendly. I really admire the fact that being at this stage in her life, she is so humble and down do earth.
You are a big fan of Salman Khan too. Has the recent controversies concerning Salman had any effect on your opinion about him?
I felt lucky that Salman's sister introduced me to him and then the film Lucky happened. I am very close to Salman's family because they have treated me like their own family member. I never feel out of place when I am with Salman's family. Both brothers, Salman and Suhail, are warmhearted and emotional people. I pray that he comes out of this phase of his life very soon.
