Shahid Kapoor:Working on a Killer Instint

Shahid Kapoor is unfazed by the media tom-tomming about Upen Patel's performance being the highlight of '36 China Town'. He isn't too bothered about the lukewarm response to his brush-with-Priyadarshan 'Chup Chup Ke' either. Spat with Salman during the 'Rockstars' concerts and lady-love Kareena working-yet-again with once-secret-beau Hrithik Roshan in Zoya Akhtar's next doesn't unruffle his calm feathers. The fact remains, this 25 year old smashing dancer and a fine actor is making his presence felt in his quiet controlled way. And that's why he is saying that be it the Khans, Hrithik or Abhishek, all of them took time in consolidating their position.

The actor in him is taking things easy for the time being. He has worked with seasoned directors like Abbas-Mastan, Priyadarshan and now he is working with the miracle-man Soorja Barjatya in 'Vivaah'. In 'Vivaah' he pairs up once again with Amrita Rao, the simple actress with whom he shares the best chemistry of all the actresses he has worked with so far.

Shahid Kapoor also aims to be selective like Aamir Khan from here on. He feels that Aamir is the only actor who has got his priorities right for he has the ability to choose good filmmakers (Not necessarily big filmmakers). 'Fanaa', and 'Rang De Basanti', according to Kapoor are not conventional films but yet they are huge successes. He also aims to develop a 'killer instinct'.
