Rohini and Naina are in the kitchen doing their own work, but the former is constantly eying Naina, as she plans to pour out the cold milk from the child's bottle and fill it with the hot milk from the pan. At this time, Vibha calls Rohini who leaves the kitchen, and takes over the baby, and tells her mother to bring the milk bottle. She holds the hot milk bottle in her hand and apparently does not feel the heat of the milk, as she walks to the living room where Rohini asks her to test the temperature of the milk, and on pouring it on the back of her hand, Vibha gives a squeak, and informs her that it is boiling hot.
Then Rohini starts her long speech, trying to prove that it was the making of Naina. This long speech, and its high pitch draws the whole house to the podium, where the future queen of the house, declaims her oration, just as Kiran Bedi did with her "Anna ki Top" speech at the Delhi maidan. Just as at that time, the politicians she was addressing were tongue tied, so too Rohini's audience, patiently waits till half of the episode gets over.
In the second half, there is rebuttal by Naina, proof of Naina's innocence by Akruti, appeal for waiver by Daksh, and the best part by Kaka as usual aiming his stings at the queen of the show, whom he compares to a dancing monkey, who will not stop, as long as the drum beat is on. Even the father, the professor, finds that accusing Naina does not make sense, and she appeals to the mistress of the house, Vibha, who does not speak out this time, as she has seen enough of Rohini's behavior at insulting the rest of the family.
The case fizzles, as Naina declares that the main culprit is Rohini, and does not want to grace her with a reply, and takes her husband to have their breakfast.
When Rohini sees, the maidan is empty, and the only audience is her husband, she folds her tent and walks off.
Kaka gives her a parting shot, saying "The director has not asked to cut the shot, so that she can shed her crocodile tears, and he goes back to reading his newspaper.

This update was delayed, due to my attention being diverted to the debate in the Lok Sabha, where it looked like a big Patwardhan house, where reason was drowned by self interest. Just as in the Patwardhan house, not resolution can be reached, until Fate dictates the end, so too, as Indians, we surrender our future to Fate.
A reasonable Vidhyadhar Patwardhan, after seeing the true nature of Naina, and her husband, his own son, who saw the goodness in her, and took her as his wife, tires to reason out with his wife Vibha, to ease her out of her shell, where she has ensconced herself in her self pity and self indignation, even to forget the promises she made to her Bappa, when her young child was in grave danger. Her husband reminds Vibha, of her vow to keep a fast on the day of the Hindu calendar, when this child of hers was born. Unfortunately, her imagined grievance comes in the way, of her reason, and she turns down the suggestion of her husband, who tries to penetrate her barricaded brain, but like our Manmohan Singh, fails to make any difference. When the persuasion is in full swing, we see the vicious voice of un-reason, coming from Rohini, but the Fasting Lady, sees more reason in the 'un-reason' of this party, which has dug her in a trench, from where only Fate can pull her out. All the by-standers, only wring their hands out of helplessness. The Fasting Lady, sees the dramatic expressions of her histrionic ability, and is convinced that her son is evil, and does not deserve a prayer to her Bappa. We can see our own faces in this mirror, as to what happened yesterday in Delhi. The 'un-reason' wins the day, and Vidhyadhar has to hide in his dilemma between reason and un-reason, and wait for a better day, some time in future, when his wife through the turns and twists of fate, will start realizing who her friends are and who the enemy. Rohini swings her attention from Daksh to her own husband Sanket, who according to her needs the blessings and prayers of his mother more, than the 'ungrateful son, who married, Naina, whom the histrionics of Rohini have convinced the Fasting Lady. She accepts her views as true, and does the abominable thing but her conscience does not let her off so easily. Rohini uses the mild nature of her in laws, to soften them, so that they will think of transferring their property in her name, as her husband is the only bread winner and whose job is insecure due to problems in his office, which her evil machinations, have managed to frame them in the trap with the willing participation of the senseless Fasting Lady. The mother, with her submissive voice, tells her daughter in law, that her bed sheet which she has washed has no place on the clothes line in the courtyard, and that she will hang it on the terrace, and the screwed up daughter in law, again takes it from the hands of her mother and offers to do the job herself, more out of disgust, than respect. As a parting advice, she tells her mother, that to break the relationship with Daksh was her idea, and she better remain steady in her resolution to keep him away. The Fasting Lady, does not see the duplicity of the evil one, just as what I saw yesterday. Like Vidhyadhar I too, had to switch off the television in frustrtion.
On the terrace, Akruti and Naina are already hanging their clothes. They are discussihg how low Rohini can go to achieve her aims. Just then, one client of theirs, Mr Sanghvi, calls on the mobile, and he happens to be Sanket's boss. As she is talking to him on the phone, it turns out that he wants them to arrange the nitty gritty of his grand child's naming ceremony, and is reminded, that they had done the wedding plans of the child's father too. At this very moment, Rohini reaches the terrace, and listens to their conversation, and concludes that they are plotting something against her husband, with his boss. A typical situation, where someone makes judgment from appearances and tempts Fate. Mr. Sanghvi tells Naina that the timing should match the auspicious time according to the Hindu calendar, and Akruti runs down to find from her source.
The evil genius runs down to her room, and calls her husband and asks, "Sanket, is your boss's name Mr. Sanghvi". He tells her that it is so, but wants to know why she wants to know it, and she tells him to come home, and she will tell him all about it.
Back on the terrace, Akruti comes with the calendar, and tells Naina, that this is what she missed. According to the calendar, it is the birth day of Daksh, and Naina tells him, that it is after ten days. Akruti corrects her, that according to the Hindu calendar, it falls on this day. Akruti tells Naina, how when Daksh was small he met with an accident, and his mother had made a vow to keep a fast on every birthday and is saddened to see the change in her attitude this year. But Naina promises to do something on their own. She decides to reserve a table in a nice restaurant. Then her mind wanders how to get Kaka Sridhar to face his responsibility, and Akruti looks at her in wonder, how her mind works. Naina leaves to go down to attend to some of her work.
Downstairs, Kaka Sridhar picks up the phone and speaks to his childhood friend with great joy on his face, and Naina sees his wide grin, and asks him, what his happiness is about, and he tells her that he is invited to the wedding of the daughter of his best childhood friend and he remembers with fond memory of his childhood days, and looks forward to meeting his old friends once again. A spark of his nature shines forth in his face, and Naina picks this opportunity to get him to change his outlook on life. She tells him to invite all his friends home, and she will prepare dinner for them. When he speaks about the cost, she tells him not to worry, and this makes him very happy, and he starts calling his friends.
In the Puja Room, Vibha is adorning the altar with flowers, and stands in front of the altar and asks for forgiveness for not keeping her fast. Looking at the altar, she runs in her mind the running commentary of her daughter in law, justifying her decision not to keep the fast. This foolish lady is listening to the devil, regarding her duties towards God. She remembers the sight of her son holding Naina's hand and presenting themselves for her blessings. He remembers how they went against her decision in running her son's life, the old fashioned way, and that was the greatest blow she had received in her ill tuned brain, steeped in old tradtion and culture. She listened to the 'devil' and forgot all the 'angel' had done to her. Everything had run down the drain, with one impression, that dazzled her eyes, as her brain was being washed by the 'devil' through her astute moves in conjuction with the evil sister of Naina. The dichotomy of the lobes of the brain, is mysterious problem even for science. Here is a mother, who has allowed herself by false ideas, and influences, and rejected the innate sense of gooness that is her natural inheritance. It is the drama of life, where we see sensible human beings being swayed by illogical arguments, as their brains are not yet fit to think. This drama is forcefully played in front of our eys, in the way Rohini tries to sway her mother in law, into doing something which every one around her find patently wrong, but the Fasting Lady is adamant, and all are hovering around her to protect her from danger, not of the soul, but of the body.
Rohini in a green salwar khameez, comes swinging her hands and slumps herself on the sofa, and says "Ayee, can I have some tea" and finding no response, runs around in the house to find where she is. She is wondering if she has been keeping the fast. Finally she sees her mother in front of the altar, where she is asking the forgiveness of Bappa, for not keeping the fast, and hears the voice from behind, "Ayee." and she turns around to see Rohini. The stupidity of a family, where a conniving young woman, hold hostage her superstitious mother in law, and demands that she should listen to her rather than to her own bliefs. Openly the vicious Rohini comes out openly and yells at her mother, and she like a timid frightened animal cowers before her and stammers an explanation. The devil lays a challenge to her mother and joins her hands and tells her that she will pray that Bappa will not receive her prayer for his son Daksh. The timid mother just listens in astonishment. She complains that her mother does not pray for Sanket, that his job will be secure, that he will not be sent on a transer. She says, that the mother does not care for him, even if it is money that keeps her alive. She starts her harrange, and it brings the rest of the family to the scene. Kaka is the first one to hear the noise and come there. He is followed by his wife and daughter and son. The father tells his family not to interfere, and Rohini throws a swipe at them, and says, "Oh, you too have arrived. We had missed you." - in the meantime, Vidyadhar too arrives. Rohini tells them, "Come and see the show." Kaka in turn replies to her, "If you have no shame to create a drama, why should be be ashamed to watch it?" Rohini points a finger at him and tells him, "You, keep quiet. You have absolutely no right to speak in the middle." Now Naina too arrives at the scene, and Rohini tells them, "This is a family matter." Rohini expresses her exasperation, and says, "Oh, oh, if I try to explain, I am forgetting to whom I am speaking !" She turns to her mother and walks towards her and says, "Ayee, atleast now remove the blindfold from your eyes. These people are not the part of our family." Vidyadhar who has known her mischief for sometime, and has come in close contact with the real nature and good will of Naina, sees how this woman is misleading his wife. She tells her mother, "You have forgotten that on one side, your son who has broken all his relationship with you is living, and you are keeping a fast for him. Have you forgotten that he went against your wishes and married a girl whom you gave shelter in this house." Kaka Sridhar remembers how all this had happened, and his brother too has memories, but his wife's brain has been dry cleaned by her daughter in law, and now she is giving it a steam ironing. The bystanders, are there watching how the Fate will direct the lives of this family. Rohini does not rest but continues, "What did you get in return? He divided this house" cooly forgetting that it is because of her nagging, the mother put the dividing line. She is twisting the rudderless ship of the Fasting Lady, just like the team members of another Fasting Man.
The evil daughter in law, goes on and on, and whines about her fate, and says, "Here is a mother, who does not think or pray for a son who is feeding her." The mother gets a voice finally, and weakly she tells her, "Rohini, do not say like this my child. Without you and Sanket, whom do I have." Rohini joins her hand, and with bended knees, says, "Thank you Ayee." Rohini turns around and says, that they do not realize who the real enemy is, and points her fingers at Naina, and blames her. Naina steps forward and says, "Vahini, say what you want to say openly." Rohini starts with what is on her mind, "Sanket has to face opposition in his office, Naina." Nain interjects, and says, "So, say more. In what way can we help?" Rohini replies, "All this has been because of your interference. Sanket's job is in peril due to you." She turns to the Fasting Lady, and with one hand pointing to Naina, says, "And this lady, is hands in glove with Mr. Sanghvi, and causing trouble to Sanket." Naina explodes, "Is your head on your shoulder, Vahini? Such a big an, will act on my complaints?" Rohini says, "Why not Naina? You might have told a sob story, and as for acting, you are superb."
In pursuance of her argument, Rohini asks her mother to ask Naina, is she was speaking to Mr. Sanghvi in the morning or not. Naina intterups and looking at Akruti, says, "Yes, but.." Rohini jumps at the answer and continues to pester her mother. Rohini puts unconnected events together and makes her two plus two is four and comes to the conclusion, that problems of Sanket in the office are a result of Naina speaking to Sanghvi on the phone. Therefore, Naina is the cause of his trouble. This is the Lok Saba logic. India applauds and the Fasting Man gets is followers. Poor India and the Indian masses. The timid mother tries to give a good construction and says, that it may be a misunderstanding, but the devil shows astonishment, and wonders how get good mother could think so well of this 'evil' Naina. She brings the hot milk issue and pushes her mother to the wall. She says, "This morning she tried to injure Atharva, and now" Shyamal shrugs her shoulders and all show exasperation with this evil genius. She turns to Naina, and asks her, "Why are you doing this to me? Is it not, because you are eyeing the property ?" Naina replies, with sarcasm in her face, "To get the property, I can not descend to your level, Rohini. I am very satisfied with my my husband earns." Rohini wants to rope in her mother and points out to her, "See how proud she is about her husband's money?" She continues addressing her mother, "And by praying for her husband, you are inflating her pride. No Ayee. You will do no puja for Daksh" The Finance Minister in Vibha awakes, and says, "Stop. . " She loses her control, and says to her daughter in law, putting her in her place, saying, "Stop, I have enough from you." Rohini does not what has hit her on the head, and she stares at her mother in disbelief.

In the Puja Room, Vibha raises her voice and stops Rohini's constant allegation and explains to her that she was not doing the Puja for Daksh and she realizes her mistake and asks Vibha's forgiveness.
Vidyadhar tries to explain to Vibha that she is unreasonable with Naina, yet even though he knows the true state of affairs, he does not want to disturb his wife's mental equilibrium and regrets his inability.
Rohini continues her sting operation, and in spite of Vidyadhar's opposition, manages to sway his wife.
Naina is determined to save Sanket's job and wants to call Sanghvi, but Kaka Sridhar dissuades her, but she still goes and calls him, and as she almost succeeds in persuading him to keep Sanket on his job, she starts to talk about the grand son's naming ceremony, and is ebullient and smiles and Vibha arrives and notices that she is speaking to Sanghvi, and concludes that she is up to her tricks, and yells at her and tells her to leave the house. Kaka comes and argues with Vibha and then Rohini interferes and Naina tells her to mind her business, as he is not dependent on her. Vibha gives the order to Naina to vacate the house, and the rest of the dumb crowd in spite of knowing what is right and wrong, can not defy the Matron.
In the precap, Daksh tries to persuade Naina, that his father can not go against his mother, and the best option left to them to keep the family bond intact, is to leave the house.
The whole melodrama is unrealistic and unbelievable, so the update too is reflecting the same. Hope the future track, would be better, with Daksh and Naina on their own, and with new friends, and away from the fossilized crowd.

Vibha is very angry with Naina and tells her to leave the house. Daksh comes down, and takes her up to his room. Rohini tries to persuade her mother that she has done the right thing, and Kaka Sridhar taunts Rohini and Vibha.
Shyamal coaxes her husband, and he decides to do something about his life. He calls Mr. Bajaj the property lawyer to advise him, of his rights, after seeing their property papers. When Naina is being told by Rohini that she is shameless, to remain in the house even after being told by her mother, Daksh wants to take her away. A call comes and Daksh picks the phone and it is from Mr. Bajaj, and immediately, Kaka takes the phone from him, and tells him, that he had called him, and he confirms the arrangement. Naina tells Rohini that she can forget her dreams, and now she will have to settle this matter in the court. Vibha again notices this and Naina leaves and Daksh comforts her.
Rohini persuades her mother to transfer all the property in the name of her grand son, and Vidhyadhar is extremely angry with this idea, and scolds his wife who still insists that Rohini gave them a good idea. The husband reminds her that this is injustice, and she has forgotten, that he has two sons, and Vibha wants to say something, but stops, because her husband is too angry. After some time, Vibha finds her voice and asks him, what if Naina were to drag them to court, will they then sit quiet and wring their hands ? The husband asserts that Naina will never do it. Rohini starts whining, about Naina and tells her mother, that she has managed to sway her father to her side. The father, confronts her, and tells her, I know Naina better than you. I am very sure that she will not do it. They are stunned at his self confidence and wonder, what he knows that they do not.
Rohini finds the property papers and is excited and wants tells her mother to go and give them to the father and discuss with him. She tells him, that it will upset him, and tells her to wait.

Friday, December 30, 2011
After Rohini persuades her mother to transfer all the property in the name of her grand son, and Vidhyadhar is extremely angry with this idea, and scolds his wife who still insists that Rohini gave them a good idea. The husband reminds her that this is injustice, and she has forgotten, that he has two sons, and Vibha wants to say something, but stops, because her husband is too angry.
Rohini is after her mother to find the property papers and is excited and realizes that the property is in the name of the mother, and wants to tell her father, but the mother is reluctant to go to him. Rohini volunteers to go to him, and then she offers to go down and tell her husband.
Naina is in deep thought and Kaka finds her and tries to encourage her. She tells him, not to go to the lawyer, as assures him that his brother will not sign the papers, and she is sure of it. He agrees to hold back. She tells him, that he is not inviting his friends to the house, due to the behavior of Rohini, and he suspects she will go to any length to create trouble.
Sanket is with his child, who is crying and he calls Rohini who is busy with the mother hunting for the property papers, and when she hears his voice, the mother reminds her and asks her to go, but she tells her that it is more important to find the papers, and that Sanket will take care of his son. Just then Sanket's mobile rings and he tells his father who has come to speak to him, about Rohini, but he tells him, to attend to the call, and tell the caller, that he will speak to him later, and takes the child and goes to the garden. Mr. Patwardhan replies to the call, and finds it is from Mr. Sanghvi, who tells him about Sanket and how because of Naina's concern about him, he changed his mind, and now he will not be transferred, so that he can stay with his wife and new born child, as he too knows what it is as he is the grand father of a new child as well. Mr. Sanghvi asks Mr. Patwardhan to thank Naina for her good work, and he agrees.
In the living room, Mr. Patwardhan is looking at the family of his son, Daksh, with his wife, uncle, aunt and his cousins, very happy, and sees how Naina is trying to hold the family together. Rohini and Vibha come rushing to confront Vidyadhar and the wife tells him, "I am giving you a last chance. Make up your mind as to whom do you want." Vidyadhar is exasperated with his wife's blind faith in Rohini and her antagonism to Naina, and tells her, "Yes, I know whom I will choose" and looks angrily at her. What he will tell her is something we have to wait till Monday.
