Can we refer to ram kapoor as something else?

Okay so I am pretty new to this forum as you can see but as I am reading through the posts one thing I noticed is Ram kapoor. And honestly I am confused as hell as to if someones talking about ram kapoor as an the actor or ram kapoor as a character. So therefore I was thinking it might make more sense to refer to ram kapoor the character as Golu or any of the other nicknames he has. I mean a clear example of the confusion is in the post about "Ram kapoor's real mom" okay so in this case the question I have is are we talking about ram kapoor the actor's real mom entering the show as ram kapoor the character's real mom or am I just confused.
