Tomorrow, one of Ekta Kapoor's longest running prime-time shows on TV, Pavitra Rishta, takes its first 20-year-leap. The producer admits she toyed with the idea of closing the show while it was still scoring high ratings. "The story had become stagnant. I didn't have the time on hand to work out the
leap because I was preoccupied with other things. But the channel, Zee TV, supported me," says Ekta.
Even before the Hindi remake of popular south daily, Thirumati Selvam, had gone on air, Ekta had admitted that the relationship between the show's leading lady Archana (Ankita Lokhande) and her mother (Savita Prabhune) was symbolic of her relationship with her mother, Shobha. "Without her support, I wouldn't be where I am," she says, adding that her father has also played a major role in her life. "I have a story in mind that I will dedicate to my relationship with dad (Jeetendra). It's difficult to explain what he means to me. May be my show can help."
Speaking of relationships, is there anybody special in her life? Ekta bats back, "People ask how I come up with such convincing on-screen romances without being married. I believe you just need a heart that can sense emotions. The rest falls into place .
