Azad after Maulana Azad who was one of the Khans great grand uncle and a prominent figure in Indian history. Aamir just posted this info on Facebook.

And now we know why it was important to pass on those genes :-)

Completely off the topic:
When parents say they want kids...they want it for themselves...there is nothing so great about the act in my opinion. You have them coz you want them for SOME reason...it is not selfless hehe! So when they say "I did so much for you..." *ahem ahem* 😆 *don't kill me parents on this forum* 😆

On the Bachchan topic...I really think everyone is trying to make statements...the Bachchans made a statement by welcoming a baby girl with as much fanfare as any boy...they also made a statement saying that Ash pushed the baby because there are women who just go for caesarian without any logical reason (yes it is a woman's choice but so is everything else in life...people still want to make statements).

The way Aamir is doing it is more systematic and seems more sensible. The way the Bachchans did it kind of made it very attention seeking. But in effect they are all trying to make a statement with their actions because they think they have influence on the public's thinking!

a lot of people find it romantic! like whatever! LOL! what if you get divorced? which is what happened to someone I know. with so much fanfare she changed her last name and then had to drop it in 2 yrs! oh so romantic! 😆 and some people can't even drop it...like demi moore! she got stuck with moore and then her twitter id was mrs kutcher! sucks! 😆

i think we all should get to choose our own last names when we become adults! If we like our lastnames we keep it otherwise we change it! like i would love to have KHAN as my lastname just coz I think it's a cool one haha...I would SOOO pick that name! (ya would upset my parents but oh well!) but that way you can never track anyone or know their faith or their families by their lastnames! and you choose to do this! if you are really proud of your family you can keep it like if you are beti b i am sure she would not want to leave bachchan or rai! but if you have punukuttu or jhunjhunwala or bin-laden or bush, you might want to change! 😆 do I have support on this? any objections? I dislike the current system! It's too male oriented!

^and oh ya what happens when you are a homosexual couple! what lastname does the child get? the traditional system is falling apart!

and yes, when people have nothing better to say, they usually ignore their own actions and pretend that they are the epitome of 'correctness' (or use any other word of your choice...!

and the accusation was for your friend, btw... and you may not have commented, but i am sure you are much more active on IF than i am... but regardless, i do not know whether you chose to ignore that or you were not aware... and personally, it really does not matter at the end of the day...!

and you should know that i am not accusing aamir... did i create a thread and tried to shove my opinion down people's throat by making an assumption and later, suggesting that it was an actual published article...? 😛 i find all this extremely distasteful...

and unfortunately, with some people, i did use sarcasm to get my point accross... but it's amusing to see that certain people have turned it into a case of morality... so, you should hardly be surprised if i question it...! 😛😛

p.s. nothing personal against you or your friend, btw... at the end of the day, it is some stupid forum... i guess it's silly on my part to expect people to show a little more respect especially in such matters... as a woman, i find it extremely offensive... that is the only reason why i supported ash... warna, i am not a fan...!
