Kesar was getting ready to go to office.Gulaal was not coming today and she was not feeling well since morning. He wanted to stay behind and take care of her but there was an important meeting at the karkhana and he needed to go but either way he had made sure that she was in bed relaxing and has all the things she need and if anything was the problem then she should call and let him know. He sat beside her on the bed and he smiled his ever innocent smile. "Main Jaoo" Kesar asked slowly. "Haan Haan Jaoo main toh bilkul teek hoon Kesar" replied Gulaal with the sweet smile. "Apna khayaal rakna aur khabardaar kitchen ke tharaf gayi tho" he said as he was leaving.Gulaal smiled very half heartedly. She had woken up with a very bad headache and then when she was waking up Kesar she felt an uneasiness and Kesar had made her feel a lot better with some tablets but still she knew that she was not her 100%.
An hour had passed and she could no longer roll around in bed so she slowly climbed down the stairs and went to the kitchen. She laughed remembering Kesar's words. Paanba saw her and refused for her to work but Gulaal was Gulaal and she said she can do it and she was fine. She had kept the vegetables to boil and suddenly her head started spinning. Paanba noticed and said whats wrong. Gulaal replied, "nahi bus kuch chakkar sa aa raha hai". Paanba quickly gave her a glass of water to drink. "Tumhe doctor ko dikhana chahiye" she said. Gulaal reluctantly agreed and decided to go to the nearby clinic.
Paanba wanted to accompany her in this condition but Gulaal had refused saying that she could manage. She waited in the waiting line for a long while and then the nurse called her name. After a few tests and check up's Gulaal was getting worried and she asked the doctor, "Jee woh kuch problem hai kya" The doctor smiled at her frustation and replied " Jee nahin Congratulations Gulaal aap maa banne wali hain. Gulaal was shocked and surprised at the same time. She thanked the doctor and hurried out. A quick phone call to Kesar, "hello Kesar", "haan bolo Gulaal" "woh kya aaj tum ghar jaldi aa sakthe ho" "haan par kuch problem hai kya" "nahi aisi kyuch nahi bas tum aao" and she cut the line.
Kesar thought that something was wrong and rushed to his car. On the other side Gulaal returned from the doctor. She was shying already on how she was going to tell her Kesar this News. But she did have a plan in mind. She slowly told Motaba and Paanba that she was pregnant. They all were elated even the normally arrogant Sudha was happy on becoming an Auntie, She told them to not tell Kesar and that she would tell him but when he arrives to tell him that since she had returned from the doctor she has been in her room and not spoken evn when someone went to see her. They aggreed and gave her the blessings.
Motaba had told the remaining members of the family apart from Kesar and they were all happy. Even Dushyant was happy for them. Kesar came in a hurry and saw the family gathered in the hall and asked everything was fine and they told him Exactly what Gulaal had told them to say.
There were millions of questions running in his mind. Is she alright? Did something happen? When he reached their room he saw Gulaal had slept off on the bed. He came round and touched her forehead to see if she was ok. But she seemed alright. Then his eyes fell on the medicine on the dressing table. There was a lot of packets and the reciept from the doctor. Now he was panicking when he heard Gulaal call his name.
"Gulaal, tumhe kya hua hai, tumhe itni dawaayi kis liye di gayi hai" she shyed and took his hand and placed in on her stomach but he still didn't understand or notice the signal as he continued, "tum chup kyu ho bataao mujhe kyi kya hua hai", again she help his hand firm around the stomach and she looked at it. He noticed now! His mind was racing.
Suddenly everything fitted together. Her headache, uneasiness, visit to the doctor, medicine, hand on stomach. this could all mean one thing, She was pregnant. "Sach" was all he said and she replied with a nod. He lifted her and turned her around before she commanded him to put her down beacause it wasn't good for the baby. He was elated and she was very happy too. Toh mein papa banne wala hoon aur mere dil ub do jaanon ke liye hai. They embraced each other and the final piece of our Gul-Kes Jodi has come together.
