A similar incident like the one you mentioned happened with me too - I mistakenly dialed one of my friends' landline when intending to call someone else, and his father (who is a very good person I'm on nice terms with) didn't recognize my voice and before I could identify myself, told me off so hard that I hastily disconnected the line. I hadn't done anything except ask if someone was in the house... he could've just said "wrong number", na? đ Later, I learned someone had been troubling my friend regarding project work, so I guess that's why the misunderstanding took place.
I reckon that's the most likely scenario here too, especially since the conversation didn't even move towards introductions from what has been said. In an emotional state like that, a person's ability to think rationally is highly diminished and mistakes happen, with everyone. If she had been composed and waited to know who Diya actually is, I don't think she'd have ever talked like that.
