Khushi's reliance on her Devi mayyia...her religious inclinations are what ASR claims to thawart, but it is this BASE quality that pulls him to her, because she reminds him very much of his mother. I would bet heavily that Arnav and Anjali's mom was a deeply religious woman, who too was well aware of religion and practiced it with whole and pure intention...much like Khushi. Anjali too has learned to be this way from her mother...hence religion plays a pivitol role in her like too. And to just take that one step further, Nanni too is very religious...much like Arnav's Mom and Sister...so the three generation of the Rizaada women and Khushi have much in common... a pure belief of religion, and a pure intention to practice it to the best of their ability.

If Freud was alive...he would scream Oedipus Complex!!!😉

@ bold...may be that's the reason behind his .." main bhagwaan mein vishwaas nahin karta " attitude cause the same Bhagwaan failed to save his mom from the jaws of death although she was so faithful ??... so may be he got disillusioned ??

From Mime to Moon to Mom - Don't you just fall in love with this show more and more!

Yesterday was one of the most Beautiful moments on TV that I have seen - wonderfully conceptualized and enacted by the TEAM.

I loved the contrast between Arhi interaction yesterday. In the beginning she was daring him to speak, break his promise chuckling at his anger but later at night, when he spoke to her, there was no "Oh you are talking to me now" or any such thing.

She was deeply saddened looking at him comprehending fully what he was going through, what was said and what was left unsaid and trying to help him with her words, silence and her presence.

Introspection has already begun for Arnav.

Starting from How his mother won't recognize him at all to If she will be happy seeing him today, knowing fully well that if his mom saw him today that she would instantly see right through him just like Khushi has started to.

I am also guessing he won't do something stupid when he comes to know about Khushi's engagement.

If you notice in the promo, he immediately takes a step back hearing the news, so my guess is he will at first simply accept the fact that she is engaged. After all that is what he wanted right, Khushi out of his life.

And then It will HIT him.

Along with the Kangan which he will realize is going to end up with the wrong person with due respect to Lavanya - a person he does not love and the loss of the person he does love, He might finally ACCEPT what has been desperately trying not to acknowledge that he is in love with Khushi.

Sorry went a bit off topic, but I am kinda hoping the Kangal at the very least is instrumental getting him to realize that his decision to get married to Lavanya to put it mildly is an absolute blunder.

I love reading beautifully written words about my favorite people. 😃😃😃

Nice post Su !!

We actually never gave much attention to it but now that have made this post, it is true that her omnipresence is felt throughout the show.

ASR became ASR because of what happened to his mother - it is the most integral part of the story and his characterization.

I loved this scene. Khushi is the woman who as his mother wrote, will be able to return his love - but also be able to understand it. She is the only one who will be able to tolerate his anger as well and at the end of the day, not break under it but become stronger for it and return love.

When Anjali reads those words for Chote's dulhann from his mother - it describes not only what his wife should do and understand about Chote - but also what their mother had done for her Chote. No matter his gussa towards his mom, he knew she had so much love for him. The sound of her kangans soothed him and calmed him down. She centered him.

I want Khushi to wear those kangans and be in that position to bring him peace as his mother did.

Awww! Su Di Loved ur post...

And the above lines are beautiful...My Brother n My mom r kinda like this...Though he s close to me I always feel, he shares a gr8 rapport with my mom in spite of age difference

As u said, he may identify a mother in her, who loves him unconditionally

Anu - I can ensure (knowing Indians senti about dead mothers ornamnets) - LA-ASR engagement may happen but the kangans will be only worn by Khushi .
Pigwa may steal them from Anjali and Nani to give to Khushi as their marriage gift , he would not about their history
