In today's episode they show Aayi asking for milk for the baby. This is the first time I have heard giving a new born baby cows milk as one does not give anything except for mom's milk or formula for about a yeat

correct..cow's milk will be given only if mother doesn't have milk

this is not always true... new born babies do get fed on cow's milk too.!

I noticed in countries like Pakistan and India cow milk is given to babies and it's pretty much common especially when mothers milk is not available;e. Here in the USA we give formula but my aunt from the Beginning has given all 3 of her daughters cow milk (which we recently found out because we always wondered what she fed them since they have always been in good shape and it was a shock cause no one dares to give their babies anything besides formula and mom's milk ) lol but her kids are amazingly healthy ; MashAllah.

so I don't think it was a blooper :)

Yes in India specially in villages and even in cities people still give Cow,s milk to babies as its supposed to be light, .one feed or between the feeds ...
