Nilesh has finally realized that he loves Simmi. Whenever he sees he goes crazy and starts doing uncalled for things. Like today, everyone was sitting in the canteen. He was staring at Simmi, like he did a lot these days, and was about to dip his French fries in his coke instead of sauce. If it wasn't for Rey he would have made a complete fool out of himself.
Later Rey and Vicky cornered him and got everything out of him. Vaise bhi in do diwano ko 'love signs' ko pehchan ne me zyada time toh lagna nahi tha!! After much a-do they finally convinced him to tell simmi how he feels. So, here he was, standing in front of the mirror, practicing how to pour his heart out.
"Kya karu, kya karu? Kaise batau Simmi ko?" he said to himself. He went on thinking and thinking and thinking and finally came to the conclusion that he is going to propose her through a rap. So he planed out his rap and practiced it once''

NEXT DAY
(Actually next evening)
"Tu thik se karega na?" Nilesh asked Vicky for the tenth time. "Han''bilkul thik se." Vicky answered. After 2 minutes Nil again asked, "Tu pakka thik se karega na." "Han yaar, han!" Vicky said totally irritated. Again Nil asked after 2 minutes, "Tu pakka Simmi ko convince kar lega na?" Vicky clutched his hair in frustration and shouted, "Aarrrggghhh'''agar ab tune pucha na toh me pakka Simmi ko yaha se bhaga dunga!! Or fir tera plan'" he made a thumbs-up with his hand and then turned it into a thumbs down. Color drained out of Nilesh's face.
He said, "Nahi! Nahi ''nahi. Tu aisa nahi karega na? Mera bhai hai na tu? Aisa nahi karega na? Haina'haina?" his voice was all defeated yet a little hopeful too. Vicky glared at him and said, "Thik hai, nahi karunga. Par tu ab fir se nahi puchega!"
"Han'vaise bhi tere andar ka amresh puri bahar aarah hai." Nilesh said. Vicky glared a little longer and then went away to carry out the plan.
It was late evening and everyone had gone home. Simmi had stayed back to do some research for her latest project. And now she was going too. So Vicky practically ran to stop her. When he entered the parking lot, he saw her getting in the car and starting it. He ran like a maniac towards her, shouting and calling her name. She finally saw him and got off the car. "Kya hua Vicky?" she asked, really worried. "Voh''Sharon ne'" he said between breaks, panting.
"Vicky, Vicky, Vicky! Pehle tum saas le lo'fir bolna." Simmi said. Vicky nodded and took a few deep breaths. "Ok! Ok! Hummm'...Sharon ne late rehearsals rakhi hai. So usne kaha ki hum sab rehearsal hall pahuche, vo bhi thodai der me aarahi hai." He finally told her what he had to.
Mission Accompolished!
But Simmi looked confused. She said, "Late rehearsals? Par hum toh already schedule se aage chal rahe hai! Or agar Sharon ne rehearsals rakhi toh usne mujhe directly call kyu nahi kiya?" Vicky had been very relieved when he delivered the message to Simmi but it all came crashing down. Not so fast dude! Kuch soch'kuch soch! He thought. "Uh..vo kya hai na'usne tumhe call kiya tha. Par tum libraray me thi na toh shayad laga nahi." "Laga nahi? Par mujhe thodi der pehle hi toh mom ka phone aaya tha." Simmi said.
"Are tum vo chodo na. jaldi se rehearsal hall jao'please jaldi jao varna Nilesh mujhe maar dalega." He said the last part a little bit loudly, but thankfully Simmi didn't hear it. "Oh'ok!!" She said and started for the rehearsal hall but then suddenly stopped and turned back. "Tum nahi aarahe ho?" She asked Vicky. "um-uhh'me aata hu na! Tun chalo!" He said quickly. She said ok and went away.
As soon as she disappeared out of sight, Vicky sighed loudly and sat on the ground. He then abruptly shook himself and stood up. Dude, relax karne ka time nahi hai. Abhi tera kaam pura nahi hua hai. He scolded himself and ran after Simmi. He took the shortcut and reached the rehearsal hall first, and told Nil to be ready. When they heard Simmi's approaching footsteps, they quickly turned the lights off and Vicky went and hid.
When Simmi entered the rehearsal hall she couldn't see anything and then on the spur of the moment a bright light fell directly on her face almost blinding her. After a few seconds when her eyes adjusted to the light, she looked around and saw''..a beautiful room, instead of the usual funky, 'chilling out zone' rehearsal hall, alluringly decorated with cards, flowers, balloons and candles. Then finally her eyes landed on Nil, standing in another spotlight.
Nilesh was supposed to do the rap he had prepared, but standing there in front of her, it was hard for him to think properly, forget say anything. Vicky knew somthink like this would happen, so to intensify the moment he already had a back up. He took out the remote of the stereo from his pocket (he had kept it there earlier) and pressed the play button. The stereo came to life and a beautiful, romantic song flowed from it.
It was on a comfortable audible background level. Vicky kept the remote on a nearby table and quietly slipped out. Sim and Nil kept staring sweetly at each other for God knows how long. None of then could define or even understand the pleasure it was giving them. Simmi hoped that what was happening was what she thought was happening.
"Sharon'?" She asked absentmindedly, not looking away from Nil, and trailed off. "Sharon ne tumhe yaha nahi bulaya. Mene bulaya hai." Answered Nil, hoping she wouldn't get angry. On hearing this Simmi's heart swelled and her heartbeat sped. All her doubts were cleared. She absolutely knew what was happening, why she was here. Her lips twitched and a small danced around them.But Nil was so busy admiring her, he didn't even notice her smile.
Till now Simmi was in her control. But what Nil did next totally blew her off. As she stared at him, he moved forward. To Nil, it felt like walking on clouds. He kept walking untill he was a little less than half a meter away from her and then sat down on one knee. Simmi's eyes went wide and her jaw dropped. Nil's rational mind was begging him to stop immediately but he was being controlled by his heart.As he looked up to Simmi's shocked angelic face, all his thoughts got caught in a tornado. He forgot what he was planning to say.
He just blurted out, "Simmi, tum hamesha se meri best friend thi. Hum kabhi saath rahe toh kabhi jhagde. But you always supported me. Chahe kuch bhi ho jaaye, me khud ko tumse door nahi rakh pata tha. I always thought ki that's because you're my best friend. But you are more than that. Much More. Tum meri zindagi ho. Me tumhare bina incomplete hi Simmi. You complete me. Bin Sim-sim ke Nil''is totally nil." He said all that slowly and softly, without taking his eyes off Simmi. He waited a while, then took a deep breath and stood up. He looked straight into Simmi's eyes and saw then brimming with tears. His heart ached with disappointment.
He asked in a detached voice, "Tum ro kyu rahi ho? Itna bura laga kya?" Simmi chuckled a little and said "Shut up!" emotionally. Then she stepped forward and embraced Nil in a tight hug. Simmi's this step took Nilesh totally off-guard. He couldn't comprehend anything for a few seconds.He then regained his senses and hugged her back. Simmi's heart was literally pounding. She felt as if her happiness would tear her apart.
As Nil returned Simmi's hug both of them knew, He was Her's and She was His!
