Choco,
Please watch Swades! Please do! IMO, it is SRK's best work, right alongside Chak De! Actually, even better than Chak De in many ways!
It was the only film in which one could see SRK the actor rather than the star!
And Paheli is also a very nice film! Rani Mukherjee's best work!
Ashoka was terrible...and Kareena's clothes were just too much!

Smartie, it made me cry too! Especially the song, Yeh Jo Des hai mera...the picturization was so poignant...so heart-rending!
A truly epic film...Ashu's best after Lagaan!

I went to watch the new devdas after watching the old one, and the scene where paro is waiting for devdas to come, is a total copy of the old one, but it went such OTT that i kind of cringed. Whatever it was, SLBs devdas was too much opulent, but still i liked parts of it. like kaahe chhed, it is imho one of the most beautiful classical based song, not to mention madhuri's dance there, the more piya song. i was quite young then but now i understand what a superb dance choreography it was, the way it potrayed everything, subtle and with indian moves and aishwarya was amazing there. another scene i loved was the pre durgapuja scene where paro collects the mrittika from veshyadwar, although rest of it was hokum, that scene gives me goosebumps.

one thing i absolutely hated in the SLBs devdas was the last scene, paros saree working as carpet, man even draupadi didn't have that long a saree.

since swadesh and paheli r brought, i though paheli was cute, though the whole son daughter stuff went overboard, but i find it cute and rani looked so beautiful, she has never looked so pretty anywhere. Swadesh , if only it was a little less lengthy, such a beautiful movie where everything was so natural, and even srk wasn't OTT.
