He is effective. His movies have a slick clean look about them, his locales are imaginative and his imagination is over the top. The problem is that he cannot be an effective producer and actor at the same time - one has to give for the other to survive, unfortunately. I have watched and enjoyed all his productions, except Always K K, did not watch.

Like Raj Kapoor, his productions may be a little ahead of the audience appreciation - even his periods.

What is the job of a producer?

Inception of an idea. Making sure the film gets completed on time. Invest the right amount of money and give the film the best release possible.

SRK has always made sure that his films get a great release. Great marketing, promotions and the best theatres. In that sense, SRK is a great producer.

SRK's movies usually do tend to go over-budget. Whether its the recent Ra.One or OSO. So he is a little over-indulgent in that sense. Great for the director, because as a producer he'll give him/her everything they need. Not so great for his investors and himself. Movies are usually completed on time.

SRK has tried some off-beat films such as Paheli and Asoka, so we know creatively he can think outside the box.

Overall. SRK has 1 Super-hit, 3 Hits, 2 Flops and 1 Disaster.

Thats a pretty good record for any producer. So yes, SRK is a good producer. An average producer would not to be able to complete and release a mega-project like Ra.One and end up keeping all his investors happy.

I think SRK is a brilliant producer

In a span of 10 years he has come up with romances, masala entertainers, sci fi, a patriotism/social commentary themed film and A period film ... Most of films looked good and you couldn't say any corners were cut vis a vis production value (Paheli an epic fail but man what costumes, cinematography and SFX 😆)

Considering his willingness to spend money as well as invest in risky ventures (though i m sure movies like Paheli, Ra.One and Asoka looked great on paper) I would say he will be soon be considered amongst successful producers... He just needs to hire the right people to execute those ideas ...

PS .. i would take him any day over other producers who try to repeat the same success formula in every other film
