CELEBRATING DIWALI WITH THE STARS
Leading us into Truth and Light, Diwali is celebrated on a nation-wide scale on Naraka Chathurthasi day on the dawn of Ammavaasya during the Hindu month of Kartik (September/October) every year. It symbolizes the age-old culture of our country which teaches us to vanquish ignorance that subdues humanity and to drive away darkness that engulfs the light of knowledge. Diwali, the festival of lights even today in this modern world projects the rich and glorious past of our country and teaches us to uphold the true values of life.
STORIES AND LEGEND OF DIWALI
The most famous legend behind the celebrations of Diwali is about Lord Shri Ram. Shri Ram attacked Ravana who had treacherously abducted his wife sita to Lanka. Ravan was killed during the war. On the arrival of Lord Ram along with his wife Sita, people of Ayodhya decorated their homes as well as the city ofAyodhyaa by lighting tiny diyas all over, in order to welcome their beloved prince Shri Ram and Devi Sita.
Television and Diwali
Festivals have always been an integral part of the television serials and Diwali in particular is one of the most celebrated festivals. Diwali is a festival of lights signifying gaiety and prosperity, people always seek prosperity and hence Television serials also capitalize on this. More over lights put glamour into the serials; this is one of the basic reasons why Diwali is so important for TV people.
The lavish sets made for diwali is one of the perfect example to show the glamour of TV world. The beautiful sets decorated with diya's, flowers and tiny twinkly bulbs of Geet hui sabse parayi on the last Diwali is still engraved in our minds.
The little cute moments oNaitik and Akshara of their first diwali as husband and wife in Rishta Kya Kehlata hai left a broad smile on our faces.
The happy celebration of young hearts Samrat-Gunjan and Mayank-Nupur in Mile jab hum tum made us shake our legs and hearts on the beautiful diwali episode.
There are many more lingering moments that we have enjoyed and lived with the television.
Hope this diwali too there are dhamakas of happiness and enjoyment which can relish upon with Geet-Maan, Akshara-Naitik, Suhana-Ishaan, Khushi-Arnav, Anant-Navya, Maanvi and Jeevika, Ram-Priya and many more telly stars.
