@Shivi-- Lets give the track a shot & I'll not have any preconceived notions nor any expectations -am just assessing the scope of the track:

From what I've seen Geet went off to local sweet shops,golgappa stands with her frenz too after the college ended too-infact she was invited to accompany by a mate too on her intro scene but she refused coz of guests arriving at her house.

Handas organized -festivals like Lohri too-which was a public event -stalker could've caught her sight then & lets not forget though Handa patriarch had a strong hold over community -but they tightened the noose over gals explicitly to stay away from boys rather than other way round-instead of whipping away at guys to keep their distance -thats why Channi was the first one to be victim of honour killing & being a 'disgrace' -'n' Gurvinder (her husband) was chased only when he dared raise his voice against Brij

Darji even hesitated to let the girls fo to school...cause he didn't want them to stepping out of the house.

rajji was scared to even enjoy herself outside with the scare that Darji would beat her...geet scared rajji the first episode by mimicking Darji's voice.

The only freedom the girls got was to go to school and come home...even after the Dev fiasco geet had to beg darji to let her go to school again...otherwise wasn't she NOT locked up? Are u saying that house was not a prison? Geet herself claimed it.

C'mon everyone has the right to state the facts as is - you can say bluntly if there is anything wrong when a blunder erupts - its an open debate after all & your point has some weight too.

But all I wanna add is Darji & Brij were very much assured that their so-called strictures on female's boundaries & stringent punishment were sufficient for Handa girls to understand their boundaries -thats why Brij stated that Geet's upbringing & their social code wouldn't allow her to meet Dev alone -while match was being decided in Handa home.

They locked Geet up when they saw the rebellious streak flare in her eyes & putting a blot on their repute if their fault in fake marriage caught up
