Shahid says 'no' to Vishal

The actor turned down his Kaminey director choosing not to step into the shoes left empty by Ajay Devgn in Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola

On October 15, Mumbai Mirror reported that Ajay Devgn had opted out of Vishal Bharadwaj's next film Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola (MKBKM) in favour of Ashwini Dhir's Son Of Sardar since big monies were involved in the latter. Looking for an actor to fit in the character, Bhardwaj approached his Kaminey star Shahid Kapoor. Citing date problems, Shahid too has now refused to be a part of the filmmaker's upcoming comedy.

A source told Mumbai Mirror, "After Ajay Devgn said no to MKBKM, Vishal thought Shahid would be a good choice opposite Anushka since their film Badmaash Company was received well by the audiences and critics. However, Shahid has refused to be a part of the project since he is busy with Kunal Kohli's film Muqtassar and then Siddharth Anand's remake of Knight and Day."

While some may attribute Shahid's refusal to thecreative differences he had with the filmmaker during the making of Kaminey, our source revealed, "Shahid is now fine with Vishal. He really had date issues with MKBKM. He will definitely do Kaminey 2 with him next year, woh pakka hai."

"Shahid is very keen on working with different directors. He has three films that will go on floors next year apart from his current projects. His schedule is choc-a-bloc right now. He has given out bulk dates to his next films," added the source.

While Vishal remained unavailable for comment, Shahid who is holidaying in Europe with his friends chose to remain silent as well.
