omg i dnt believe this..yyesterday i was stuck by this same thought as i saw the shyam torturing shashi...

hell yeah harry potter ftw. anyways i soo agree, atleast voldermort didn't hide is feelings of hate and evil intentions. i agree that he is similar to tom of the hogwart days. tom was pretty scary, but i think shyam just beat him as the scariest person. shyam was just evil, border line psychopath, if not already. i agree the most evil i've seen in television in a while.

Yes! Love all conquer all which is another point that Shyam and Tom never understood. Tom never got the concept if love and equated it with weakness and thus a useless emotion. Shyam calls his obsession love but doesn't understand what true love is or the power of it thus prompting Shashi to ask "do you even understand what love means?"

Arnav, however not only understand what love means he is acutely aware of the destructive and painful power of love which makes him a reluctant Harry Potter (hey!! He's in to gardening a.k.a pottering!!! COINCIDENCE?) because Harry, though aware of the pain of love never shyer away from it. He as accepting of love and all it's emotional upheavals. Arnav doesn't want to face that again.
