The soft rays of sunlight were trickling through the sheer drapes had awoken her. She stirred slightly in her sleep, smiling at the realization that she was tucked directly under her husband's protective arm.
"Preet, subah hogayi," she said in a soft whisper, lightly caressing his stubbled cheek.
"Hmm," Instead of waking up, he wrapped his other arm around her and pulled her closer into his chest. "Tumhe yaad hai aaj din kaunsa hai?"
She propped herself up slightly, leaning her arms on his chest so that she could stare down at his face. "Nope, what's today?"
He peeked at her through his left eye. "You really don't know?"
She shrugged. "Nope."
He frowned at her before twisting around to glance at his watch while she smiled at him knowingly. Of course she knew what day it was today but she wanted to see if he would remember and even if she pretended not to--would he still trust himself.
"It's a special day," he said twisting back to face her.
"Acha?" She tapped her cheek. "What is it?"
Instead of answering her he pulled her closer, their lips mere inches apart. The morning sleep was still evident in both their eyes but there was an added desire in his. He slipped a hand behind her head and used his strength to roll her on the bed so that she was lying and he was straddling on top of her.
Her eyes darkened with passion and he lowered his head. "Happy anniversary sweetie," The smile on her face quickly faded away as his lips touched hers.
There was no hidden motive in the way his lips moved around hers. She could tell exactly what he wanted but she wasn't his vixen for just name's sake. Her lips stayed closed even as his tongue nudged at them. She let out a soft giggle and he lifted himself off her.
His eyes were dark with a slight sense of sinister in them and she bit her bottom lip before looking up at him through her eyelashes.
"You're a tease."
"You're my sweetheart," she whispered and gasped as his lips came crashing down on hers once more. She didn't have time to prepare as his tongue parted her open lips. His tongue deepened inside her mouth and she let out a soft groan as she arched her body into his.
Meher sighed as his lips moved from her mouth to the side of her neck and her hand found its way deep into his hair as she tugged hard. Their eyes connected for a split second before she pulled his lips closer to hers.
"This was a great present," Preet smirked at his wife once they parted again.
"Who said that was your present?" Meher grinned before slipping on her silk gown. She disappeared into the bathroom while he stared after her.
It had been two years since they had gotten married and each day since then was better than the next. Back then he wasn't sure how Meher would be adjust to his joint family but his worries had quickly diminished when he saw that she was so loving and open. Of course that was in front of everyone; with him behind the closed doors though was a different story. They had a fun relationship, they'd tease each other, they'd love each other, according to their PB and Heer Bhabhi they were the perfect couple.

"Someone's looking very beautiful this morning," Heer commented as her little sister stepped into the kitchen later that morning, dressed in a turquoise blue chiffon saree.
"Yeh kya? Tumne toh sab bana liya," Meher pouted as she played with the bangles on her left arm.
Heer put down the paratha she was cooking before going to Meher. "Of course I did--it's your special day na?" She hugged her little sister tightly. "Happy anniversary babe."
Meher grinned as she returned the hug. "Thanks Heer didi,"
Heer rolled her eyes as they parted. "Have you got the news yet?"
Meher shook her head. "I've been waiting but nothing yet."
"Don't worry Meher, I'm right about this."
"Of course you are," Meher teased.
"Woh choro, tum Prem se mili?"
"Nahi kyun?" Meher frowned. "Woh toh office gaye honge na?"
Heer smiled. "Nah--aaj unki tabyaat kuch theek nahi isiliye bauji ne usse ghar pe rehne ko kaha,"
Meher smirked. "Is he really feeling sick or just staying home to spend some time with you?"
"That's what Preet does every month meri jaan," Heer replied as she piled the paratha's on the plate. "Ab chalo,"
She dragged the younger girl out to the dining area where Gayatri Juneja and Prem Juneja sat. "Aapke patidev kahan hain?"
Meher smiled at her elder sister. "Stuck in the bathroom,"
Gayatri laughed at her comment before turning around to see her younger son descend the stairs. "Agaya tu?"
"Ji Maa," He gestured for Meher to come with him as they both touched her feet for blessings.
"Sada suhagan raho," Gayatri smiled as she affectionately touched their cheeks.
They both went to Prem who shook his head quickly and hugged the two before handing them an envelope.
"Yeh kya hai?" Preet asked feeling it.
Prem rolled his eyes. "Khol ke dekhle."
Preeet handed it to Meher who hesitantly opened it. She glanced up to see Heer standing next to Prem and Gayatri was nowhere to be seen.
"What is it?"
Heer leaned her head on Prem's shoulder. "Check it,"
Meher sighed loudly. "Fine--so mysterious."
Prem and Heer watched as she stuck her index finger under the flap of the envelope and pulled it open. "Oh gosh PB,"
Preet took the paper from Meher and his eyes widened in excitement. "Are you guys serious?"
Prem nodded. "Have fun you two,"
"Wait," Meher said quickly before hugging both Prem and Heer. "You two, thank you."
Heer touched her cheek lightly. "I love you Meher,"
"I know didi," Meher giggled before hugging Prem again. "Thanks PB."
"Anything to see you smile," Prem replied with a soft pat of her cheek.
Preet slipped his arms around Meher's waist, watching Prem and Heer's retreating backs. "So..."
She tilted her head lightly back and raised an eyebrow. "So?"
Preet smirked. "A night at the Taj Hotel,"
"Alone," Meher added.
"Perfect," He lifted her up and spun her around while she laughed.
-----
They had been in the hotel for about two hours already, but hadn't gone up to their room yet. The hotel had so many different shops that Preet had dragged her around to see them and she was feeling somewhat nervous.
The news she had been waiting for still hadn't arrived and she had hoped that it would be the perfect present for her husband but she hated the waiting. They both stepped out of the elevator on their floor and Preet looked at her with a smirk. "You ready?"
"You're acting like it's the first time I'm going to be alone with you,"
"No," Preet laughed. "But this is one of those nights you know what's going to happen."
No Preet, I still don't know what's going to happen. She gave him a wide smile as he clicked the key card in the room.
She had avoided the nervous feelings all day but now as the night was nearing, she knew he was waiting for his gift and she was dying in anticipation.
Meher slowly let her hand drop to her stomach and sighed deeply before stepping into the room with him.
"Welcome to our home for the night Mrs. Meher Juneja,"
She let out a loud laugh at that before touching his arm. "Preet, I've got to tell you something."
Her phone beeped right then and she glanced down at the Nokia with scared eyes. Her expression quickly changed but he was still frowning.
"What's wrong Meher?"
"Nothing Preet," she sighed happily. "Nothing's wrong. Everything's right actually Preet."
He stayed quiet for a few moments before finally speaking. "You're confusing me,"
She grinned. "I know that pagal, now listen carefully."
He waited with bated breath as she finally spoke. "You're going--you're going to have a little person in your life now,"
"A little person?" Preet frowned until his eyes widened. "Wait--you mean?" His eyes darted down to her stomach. "You mean--" he lightly touched her stomach.
She nodded. "I didn't want to tell you until I got confirmation." She smiled happily. "Can you believe it?"
Preet shook his head before smirking at her. "Well I mean I can believe it--but I'm thrilled."
"Chup," she blushed lightly while he cradled her in his arms.
"You've made me the happiest man on earth." Preet grinned.
She pouted. "Just on earth?"
He grinned. "In the universe. When did you suspect it?"
"A couple weeks ago--remember how I felt really sick?" Preet nodded. "Didi could tell something was wrong and so she took me to the doctors to get tested and I finally got the results back now."
"You're pregnant." He sighed. "We're going to have a little Preet or a little Meher,"
Meher giggled. "Tum pagal ho,"
"Sirf tere liye sweetie." Preet nipped at her lower lip.
Meher sighed as she relaxed into his arms. "You're happy na?"
"More than I can say," Preet kissed her cheek.
She smiled up at her husband and tightened her hold around him. Since the moment they had met--each day had been more special than the last and now she was finally giving him something she knew he wanted. A little baby that was a little part of her and little part of him, already loved immensely by both his or her parents. She cuddled closer to him and sighed as his lips touched her forehead.
