yeah u r right because my english class teacher she is american also said that "american is crazy and our language also make u guys crazy".You know why because now a days they use so much slang language or if u r not that much english speaker so its very difficult sometime for u to understand english.Its better what age u have just keep in touch to the college otherwise u get lost.
