I re-watched the scene, and I noticed that when saying this confusing line, his expression was almost mocking, like, you come to me to give these huge "truth" speeches, and yet you hide and run away everyday from what we have.
He might be attracted, but he's always trying to get rid of her, while she's always gravitating to him. Falling in love is a life-threatening mistake for ASR, so he's probably annoyed that Khushi acts like theres no serious danger here, and is pushing an insignificant Lavaniya onto him when she is the real threat.
In the last few moments of the scene till the precap, he looked almost scared by his emotions-- He knows Khushi wont ever give him the kind of relationship (live in) which would be the most he can offer, and the last thing she'll accept, so this attraction is dangerous for them both.
I think hes got it right that her motives are not pure and he's called her on it. She reacts to that unsaid accusation with tears, (cause there wasn't any insult to set her off really) and she backs off-so he's gotten his answer, and he's thinking -"this is really bad!"
The subtlety of the writing was awesome though!
