It will be very sad if daima is behind this. I understand that she is and has been loyal to sr. RP and she raised dev on his command but despite that wouldn't any woman just fall in (motherly)love with a kid whom she has raised and taken care for 23 years. Anyway i guess most of the twists have no logic or sense ..will patiently wait and watch.
