Phir bhi dil hai Hindustani

The trio Kanwaljeet Singh, Ranjeet and Beena revive their bond with viewers with 'Aisa Des Hai Mera'.

Kanwaljeet Singh (Randhir Singh Deol): I am playing the character Randhir Singh Deol (Rusty's father). I have known Lekhji (Tandon) for a long time. Rarely does one come across such a powerful writer. In most of my past serials, I have had two wives. Perhaps the audience likes me this way! I am following that tradition here too."

Ranjeet (Raghubir Singh): I started playing positive roles only on television with serials like 'Junoon' and 'Baat Ban Jaaye'. I am tired of playing the bad guy. I have known Lekhji for a long time. When he narrated the show's concept to me over breakfast, I readily agreed. I play Raghubir Singh (Rusty's grandfather). He is a kind-hearted man. Despite being aware about his son's marriage to Linda in London, he keeps it a well-guarded secret. He loves Rusty but is helpless.

Beena (Kushal dadi):Though I have been doing work on and off, this is the only serial that I am very happy to be part of after 'Parivartan'. I am very excited about playing Kushal Dadi. I could have opted to play the mother's role. But the grandmother's role is much stronger than the mother's."

Synopsis: London-based Rusty (Soumya Tandon) is the only daughter of John and Linda. Yet in all her growing years, she is inexplicably drawn to all things Indian.

Then one day Rusty tumbles upon the truth that she is half-Indian and that her mom had once been married to Randhir (Kanwaljeet Singh) - a Sikh! A traumatised Rusty is drawn towards Chandigarh where her real father lives. The Lekh Tandon directorial airs on Sony.
