Not too far from the police station, in a darkened house, Thulasi was sitting on the ground tied up to a wooden stump. She opened her eyes but couldn't see much except for a faint light. She heard some voices talking somewhere behind a door of some sort. She couldn't understand much of what they were saying except one of them sounded a bit drunk and tired.
It seemed like they were debating as to whether they should call to ask for the money as they hadn't received it yet. "Dei, I'm tired bro. There isn't a response from that Charu lady. Let's just leave this girl here and go." "No way man, we need the money. You just wasted the last bit on the drinks and now we have none left." "Fine, just go and check on the girl and see if she's awake or not."
Thulasi heard some footsteps coming close to her and she saw a face staring down at her. "Sir, please let me go. I don't who you are but please just let me get home." "Sorry lady, but our boss told us to keep you locked up here and if you try to escape, to kill you."
Thulasi began to whimper, "please, I didn't do anything to you. Just let me go and I won't tell the police or anything about you. Maybe I can even talk to someone and make sure you and your friend get the money and safety you need." The man started to laugh and said that everyone who's life is in danger will say those words but they can never be trusted. He decided to drop more bad news and told Thulasi that once the payment was done, she was to die in their hands anyways. He told her to pray and left her back the faint light.
There used to be a time, when Thulasi thought being dead was better than being alive and suffering. But now there was someone to live for and she wasn't going to give up her life with TA anymore. Thulasi looked around and saw a broken piece of glass lying not too far from her. She managed to grab the piece of glass and began to cut the ropes around her hands. Pretty soon she freed her arms and her legs. Thulasi saw that there was no other door in the room than the one leading to the kidnappers' room. They were quiet for some time now and so Thulasi slowly crept up to the door and checked. They were fast asleep on the floor.
Thulasi tiptoed her way to the door and picked up the keys lying on a table. She unlocked the door when someone woke up. Before they could react to Thulasi, she ran out quickly and slammed the door shut. As the voices got louder, they kidnappers started to get up and run after Thulasi as she kept running as fast as she could into the darkness.
