On television, while we find dutiful daughters and bahus, there are a few women who hold on to their principles in their life – no matter what. We take a look at some important characters currently on television, who have certain principles in life which they uphold against all odds.

Anandi in Balika Vadhu
After her marriage with Jagya broke up, Anandi has decided to leave her past behind and move ahead in her life with two principles – fighting against child marriage and fighting for education for one and all - no matter the age. She has started a school for the elderly men and women. She wants women to be independent and confident about themselves. She believes that the woman's identity is incomplete if she is not educated.
