Did Chandragupta ever meet Alexander, and did Chanakya ever meet Porus? I thought that Chandragupta came into contact w/ the Macedonians after Alex left India. Also, Porus, after he was returned his kingdom, never became enemies w/ Alexander again. But here, Chanakya is shown instigating him to do something that risks his own life. 🤔
Also, Selukus has been defamed like anything in this serial - he was not a monster as depicted. One thing to note - the Greeks did not have a policy of mocking Vedic practices, since their religion at the time - which was the pre-Christian Hellenic religion, was very similar to Hinduism. Also, while the Macedonians did loot and plunder kingdoms that they came into conflict w/, they were good to the people who befriended them. Alexander's army was composed of not just Macedonians, but included Egyptians, Persians and other people he conquered. They wouldn't have come this far to fight for him had he not had the policy of treating them fairly. Similarly, the Indians in Alexander's/Selucus' ranks were on equal terms w/ the others, and CGM's attempts to drive a wedge b/w them and the others was a ridiculous re-write of history.
In fact, Chandragupta didn't get much involved w/ the Macedonians until after he became ruler of Magadha, and invaded the western provinces across the Beas. Look @ a map - Pataliputra - Patna - is on the east, and a lot of kingdoms would have been there in b/w Magadha and Gandhara. After he became ruler, Chandragupta decided to consolidate his empire, defeated Selucus in battle and married his daughter.
In this serial, Selucus looks young enough to be Chandragupta's BIL, not his FIL, and if he's as villainous as depicted, does it make sense that Chandragupta would marry his daughter later? Helen was someone deeply interested in Aryavartan culture - would that have been the case had her father had the attitude as shown in this serial? And how many wives did Chandragupta had - I had never heard of a Mrignyani b4 this serial, and seeing Nanda return w/ her was disgusting.
