The shows also have their ups and downs

Thanks for sharing Chalhov :)

Sad to see a dip in the ratings again :( Well, this is the result of the gharwali-baharwali promos! The problem is despite having good episodes, the promos repelled people. I am not intending to be negative here...but it seems that people aren't willing to sit through the entire two wives track again. It does seem repetitive for people who aren't regular watchers of CB2, but had watched CB1! Previous week the ratings were slightly better because RaDev marriage happened. Now the ratings fell again because of the silly marriage drama wherein DDjee asked Barkha and Dev to be married. All in all, Audience doesn't want RaDev to be separated. A drama contains everything and not just romance...but other things can be shown with RaDev being with each other. And mostly the third angle seems to be repelling the audience. Just my view point. Couldn't help myself from writing down here.

We do not know whether there would any such track with gharwali-baharwali scenario, but the promos indicated a lot and people were easily repelled away!

MUMBAI: A week after the Anna Hazare movement when the whole nation was hooked on to news channels, the Hindi general entertainment genre has seen a surge in viewership as the top four channels have upped their ratings.

As per TAM data for the week ended 3 September (HSM, C&S 4+), the whole GEC genre saw a 54 GRP (gross rating points) gain over the preceding week.

Sony Entertainment Television (Set) continued to be the second most watched Hindi GEC as it added 16 GRPs in the week to close with 258 points. Interestingly, Set now has four shows among the top 10 – KBC (5.2 TVR), C.I.D. (4.08 TVR), Bade Acche lagte Hain (3.94 TVR) and Crime Petrol (3.56 TVR). Also, the two-hour finale of X-Factor fetched a TVR of 1.8 TVR.

Star Plus maintained its top position, though it added just one rating point to close the week with 300 GRPs. The channel's 7 pm show, Saathiya Saath Nibhana, is leading the roost with 6.3 TVR. It also has Pratigya (3.61 TVR) and Yeh Rishta (3.51 TVR) in the top 10 list of shows.

Colors and Zee TV also got a boost of 21 and 18 GRPs respectively. Colors ended the week with 249 GRPs while Zee TV collected 198 GRPs.

Colors' Balika Vadhu (4.4 TVR) and Uttaran (3.92 TVR) were among the top 10 shows. The new weekend show, Veer Shivaji, opened with a TVR of 2.9.

Zee TV was mainly helped by a Ganesh Utsav special of its flagship fiction show, Pavitra Rishta.

Meanwhile, Sab shed 11 GRPs in the week to close with 117 GRPs (128 in previous week). Sab was followed by Imagine TV, which fell 3 points to 72 GRPs.

Ah! So it was the PR M.E that let ZEE gain some points? Hmm can get to see the clear picture once the TAM list is out.

Hmmm thanks for sharing Chalhov! Small increase, but due to CB or another show can't be sure. Not much excitement for Zee in the ratings.

Thats a good number. Well, they did bring in every show's characters to dance for the M.E. And the result showed.

Channel who replaced Zee , believes in slow and steady and went ahead of Zee , does not change its tracks daily , all its shows are content based not in to marry go round ride ...Its new show again is copy of Dhoop- Kinare , which was very good soap and was a love story ...Good sense prevails Zee and let the DJ,s do their job without interfering ...CB is different in contents ...
