'Bodyguard' tops 'My Name Is Khan' opening day collections

Salman Khan-starrer 'Bodyguard' is on a record-breaking spree. After a stupendous opening in the domestic market, the film has surpassed the record of Shah Rukh Khan-starrer 'My Name Is Khan' by earning 194,000 pounds on the first day of its screening in Britain.

'My Name is Khan' had taken in 191,000 pounds on its opening day in Britain.

The film is also on its way to becoming the highest grosser in the Middle East. It has collected $1.6 million in the first two days, just a little behind the previous highest grosser 'Dabangg' which collected $1.7 million.

"Reliance Entertainment's overseas team is delighted to have delivered one of the biggest overseas hits of the year. 'Bodyguard' is poised to be a record-breaking success for Salman Khan in the international markets," Sanjeev Lamba, CEO Reliance Entertainment said in a statement.

The film, which also stars Kareena Kapoor in the lead, has earned $3.8 million in the US and is expected to go past the $5 million collections of 'Dabangg'.

This is crap artilce because this is not arecord .When you want to compere then you should collect all placess and BOI said the film with in the extend weekend (6 days ) will collect 4.5-4.75 m$ .MNIK collect in 3 days 5m$+ so their is no comperesion and BY the way the special about MNIK is not the opening but the final result just like 3Idiots .

Records r meant to be broken but this doesnt prove that SRK 's charm is over at the BO or among his fans n now its Salman's time thats y watever he is touching is turning out to be best but both SRK n Salman have their own set of fans who will be always loyal to them

Just wait. Speaking as a non-Indian I can assure you that while NRIs flocked to Bodyguard the magic of SRK is that not only NRIs but people like me (Mexican & Sicilian brown, not Indian brown) will go to see SRK.

That's his overseas charm. He appeals not only to Indians but to many of the non-Indian population of the overseas market which is what ratchets up his numbers.👍🏼

Like I said the King is now Sallu not SRk...so am not shocked. Sallu is in the best phase of his career.

beboholic in india its Salman time but in overseas no way .Iam not afan of Shahrukh khan but he is very far from the other in overseas just wait till Ra one and Don 2 come .

Prince Aamir is more popular than SRK nowadays in the US.. I can brings up stats if you want.

Akki is more popular than SRK in Canada!

Sallu is the most popular in the UAE

these are the major markets in overseas... only place where SRK is absolutely is untouchable like you are saying is UK.. the guy is a demi-god there as salman is in india!
