Mistis thoughts 10th August 2011

First my protest...why are always the heavy dramatic scenes saved for Thursdays...Tomorrow is my day for updating, last Thursday I had a headache and now tomorrow also I will have another headache...grrr...not fair!

Anyway coming to the episode ...few points only, I am conserving my energy for tomorrow'..and you all have to accept my conservation of energy .😉

1) The panditji's protest is overruled by dadaji but the pandit does plant the seeds of doubt in his mind that RP can silence him but what about the others...and that wakes up Dadaji's dormant love for his own ideals. This conversation is overheard by Mohini, who is actually sad and not happy. Dadaji stands worried and Radhika observes this. Chenu gets another engagement ring and the engagement happens but Radhika extracts a promise from dadaji that he will tell her what is bothering him...and Dev wants Radhika to go? I mean he was in a rush to send Radhika home...ahh so there are no more emotional scenes between them...got it!

2) Full scale drama at Mansaram's house. Radhika doing pooja and Shanti blasts her off and says that Radhika has not free time for her to give Radhika some work to do...so according to Shanti she comes before any pooja? Has she got some allergic reaction to pooja? Or does she think that Radhika is getting everything due to her close bond with Kanha? Anyway she asks Chandsa to get water for her...Chanda gets it and also gets water for Mansaram who refuses and he asks Radhikato get him water. Then Mahabharat starts between these two...without the flying arrows and the stars and the moon (I mean in BR Chopras Mahabaharat there used to be these arrows that used to sprinkle stars and what not and as a kid I used to be fascinated by them and used to drive my grandmother up the wall because I used to stand in front of the TV and block her vision...anyway don't worry I am coming back)...Shanti who is very bitter continues that Radhika is going to be the DIL of the same rich family again after being married for the second time,...and what about the childhood marriage? Mansa retaliates that Rohan is not KK but Dev is and so what is happening is right...(Radhika is standing with very hurt look and she keeps on staring at Kanhas murthi ...is she looking for support from her kanah...or from her KK?)...Shanti continues that who knows who is her KK...once she says this and the next time she says it is someone else...well Radhika actually never said that Rohan was her KK, it was taken for granted ...she could never say it because first Mansaram did not believe her and next Dev and his obligations....Then Mansaram says that your favourite daughter stole the engagement ring...Radhika is shocked and interestingly Shanti is too...and Chanda says yes she stole that ring because she did not want Dev to be engaged to Radhika (Radhika is not too pleased with that statement...her helpless looks as disappeared) and Shanti closes her eyes (will she realize what a monster she has created..Shanti is actually looking shocked, Shanti knows that the conservative society will not allow Chanda-Dev marriage). Anyway Chanda continues that there was no use her stealing the ring because Chenu got another one from his gambling...now everyone is shocked...and Radhika walks up and says that he promised her that he will not do anything like this again (so this is the second time that Chenu has done this after promising Radhika...and both to do with the Raj Purohits...but this time it was to do with Dev)...Chenu stands there crying and Mansaram comes to hit him but Radhika stops him (Shanti is again shocked...well she is partly responsible for Chenu's actions too...she has used both her kids to get one over Radhika and now she is facing the consequence of it...one steals the engagement ring and the other buys another engagement ring from the money he obtained from gambling)...and Chenu is completely broken down (if Radhika's engagement breaks will he think that because he brought the ring from wrongly earned money, that is why all this has happened...so Radhika in one way is paying for his actions? Chenu loves Radhika but he loves gambling more than anything and until he gets over gambling by realizing it himself that what he is doing is wrong, however much Radhika says nothing is going to happen).Found it interesting that Mansaram went to hit Chenu bit not Chanda...maybe because he had started to value Chenu as his support and that was removed today and hence his anger and disappointment, but regarding Chand ahe has no illusions.

3) Now back to Purohits and Dev is getting ready to go for some judgement which is a difficult one that has made dadaji and Padma put their thinking caps on...do they have the brains to think impartially and wisely?...Dev calls Radhika and Radhika is there by the phone...so did Kanha tell Radhika that Dev will be calling her and so she was waiting by the phone for Dev's phone call and she picked up the phone even before the phone rang? Wah bhai wah editor your scissors have magic in them...oh yes I forget...Fridays cliff hanger...Anyway and Dev does not realize that something is bothering Radhika? Ahh yes Editorjee and his jadu ki kaichi...why keep Radhika and Devs emotional scenes...they are not that important...Rohan and Barkhas emotional connection is very important...Anyway Dev tells her his problem and Radhika solves it for him (I like his eyes darting as if he was thinking when Radhika was speaking to him)...and then Radhika starts talking about the importance of society and why people should follow the rules of society (Radhika talking of rules of society? When did this happen? She has always done what she wanted to do? Or is it the constant bickering of Shanti that has put society in her brain)...Dev is happy and now he puts Radhika on a pedestal by saying that she is the perfect RPtian...and badi bahu listens to all this...she goes and grumbles to Virat and mohini comes and tells her everything that she has overheard..that makes badi bahu think...

4) Now Rohan and Barkha scene...Rohan is unrepented and he taunts Barkha that she does not know what love can do and when she will fall in love then he will come and ask her that does love mean giving or taking...don't want to waste my time on Barkha so skipping what she is saying...

5) In the judgement hall Dev solves the problem and a game of passing the parcel starts'I mean who is the wisest and the bestest...the mahant with round eyes sayd RPjee you are the bestest and wiseset...dadaji says no no..I am not taking the parcel and I am passing it to Dev because he is the bestest and the wisest...and Dev says ...no no...I am also not taking this parcel it is Radhika who is the wisest and bestset...and RPjee nods his head yes yes...lets put Radhika on the pedestal of being the wisest and the bestest (so that I can escape from taking any responsibility of my further action'okkk that's for tmrw)...and then a lady comes and says...I stayed outside the house overnight and now my husband will not accept me (why did you stay outside abla nari, did badi bahu pay you to stay outside'that's misti's brain talking) and he is saying that RPjee cannot think because he is not the wisest and bestest because he is accepting a gandi ladki as Dev's wife...and Dev frowns...

Well as for acting Mansaram's family...hats off to all the actors there...all were very good and were within their characterization...Shanti and her jealousy and bitterness turning to horror, Chanda and her delusions and hatred...Chenu and his anger turning to guilt...Mansaram his anger'standing up for Rdahika and then horror at Chenu's action and Radhika her pain that no one is there to tell the truth about her KK...that Chanda hates her so much...that Chenu the one whom she trusted has backstabbed her...that something is worrying dadaji...that she cannot tell Dev...felt bad for Radhika the most...everyone is expecting her to be this perfect person when she is just a human being.

Misti today i was breaking my head...better luck for tomorrow.

Well as for acting Mansaram's family...hats off to all the actors there...all were very good and were within their characterization...Shanti and her jealousy and bitterness turning to horror, Chanda and her delusions and hatred...Chenu and his anger turning to guilt...Mansaram his anger'standing up for Rdahika and then horror at Chenu's action and Radhika her pain that no one is there to tell the truth about her KK...that Chanda hates her so much...that Chenu the one whom she trusted has backstabbed her...that something is worrying dadaji...that she cannot tell Dev...felt bad for Radhika the most...everyone is expecting her to be this perfect person when she is just a human being.

Everybody performed very well...liked everybody today.

Coming to the episode, dont know what to say!!!!...the last part reminded me of Ramayan... and getting the hints of where the story is going, feel really disappointed...

Rohan-Barkha scene was a clear hint...Radh talking about the society rules.

I just hope RaDev stay strong. i dont want to see any single side decisions from Rad or Dev. RaDev should talk together.

Misti, I found the episode interesting if I only take today's episode in its individuality. Of course, as usual scenes between Radhika and Dev are being edited or skipped so that we as viewers stop feeling an emotional connection between them. We are supposed to look for emotional scenes of others and feel happy with the show? Again such a rubbish. I do feel sorry that you would have to write tomorrow's update.

Let me vent a little bit and then I can go to the rest of the episode.

1. So Dev and Radhika gets engaged and he asks Khetu to drop them to Rawal. Doesn't attempt to talk to Radhika at all or try to delay her? Any fiancee (even outside in the real world) wants to spend some time alone with their other half. And here it is the engagement is done and ok now Radhika you go back to your home.
It was kind of duty that Dev did and the time for mansa.s family to go back, not once he looked at her or Radhika turned back ...something very odd ...Even in arrange marriage , people wants to spend some time ...its in fast forward for he next scene , don't have time for Dev Radhika scenes ..

2. Same is the next day. Since they wanted both Friday cliffhanger and want us to root for Barkha, they are editing important scenes. So Dev cannot understand that Radhika was subdued.

3. Radhika caring for the society? I could see her giving up Dev because to her it is important that Dev gets all his rights.
Yes for Dev Sake she will give up and will go away ...
But she won't give him up for the society. If she had, she wouldn't have come to PB as Rohan's wife. Until the ME and writers changed, the story was that Radhika came due to Dev. They showed it in several episodes where first Radhika was saying that and then later on Dev was admitting that Radhika came as a fake wife for him.
But if i am not mistaken , When Radhika was exposing Rohan before the family , then she say that she entered the house to take care of Rohan so that he recovers and tell the truth to everyone ...

Now to the episode. Ignoring the lack of Dev and Radhika's scenes (it has been like that now for 2 weeks), the characters were consistent. But...but.. my main worry is tomorrow or Friday's episode. I have a feeling that Dev is going to be brought down for this track. Hence those dialogues by Radhika about sacrificing for the greater good and the society.

1. So Dadaji remains a hypocrite who hasn't learnt from the past. He is conveniently forgetting the prophecy and Radhika's contribution to his family and will conveniently think about Barkha as the chosen one (since the story changed and Barkha has been glorified). So in his convoluted thinking he would say that Barkha is the one who cured him and brought all the changes. Never mind that Radhika got BB to open the temple doors, started his ayurvedic treatment, was persistent in talking to him and eventually found out the truth, removed blinkers from Dev's eyes regarding Maheswari and Rohan, eventually cured Dadaji (her words made a difference and not Barkha's treatment) and finally made it possible for Dev to get his rights. Now she is the one who is advising Dev on proper justice.

Anyway, he is consistent that he would use Radhika for his own purposes. So he conveniently will not make the final call but manipulate Radhika into doing it (for Dev's sake) and then let her persuade Dev to marry Barkha. Never mind that Radhika is in this mess because of his own grandsons (here I am also including Dev because he was the main contributor in this mess) or that Radhika did act in the end as Rohan's wife (when she admitted to it) to save Dev's life.

2. Barkha is officially now a psychotic person. Dadaji is thinking of her as a savior but instead of making Rohan repent, Rohan is the one now influencing her thinking. So she is Rohan in making. Dadaji would realize it too late that he chose the wrong girl and again destroyed Dev and Radhika's lives.

3. Maheswari is the one who probably sent that woman (washerwoman from Ramayan). Creatives if you are making Dev Ram and Radhika Sita, remember that Ram refused to marry anybody else other than Sita and used her statue as his queen. So he did justice but always kept Sita as his wife even if she was separated from him. Anyway, BB was consistent and her sending the woman didn't matter. This was bound to happen.

I think from todays episode , its going Ramayana way . if they follow this track then Would like Dev to reject the title , if not to be , then why to get married , he can always say that he was married to Radhika in childhood , so would not marry and keep Radhika,s statue beside him and go away in search for her ...I do not think Radhika is going to stay , if she sacrifice for Dev then she will go away without telling anyone... Dev should not go his father way , he is strong willed person ...

But, now Vishaka track is coming. So Radhika would persuade Dev to marry Barkha or Barkha will be coming as fake wife (if they keep the sanctity of Dev and Radhika's marriage). Barkha is going to fall for Dev and then become like Rohan to justify taking Dev from Radhika. So she will either refuse to divorce Dev or admit to being a fake wife. We are going from one triangle to another triangle.

That's my biggest hunch that Dev will be destroyed with this track. He will be made Hari and he is not that. There is no way that Dev can let Radhika be used in such a way. He and his family are responsible for Radhika's problems. Radhika gave up society and her father for him. She stood by him when he was emotionally broken and had not even enough money to feed her. So there is no way he can let her pay for his mistakes. Also he has already seen consequences of mindless sacrifices. For one, he lost his mother and rights and for another he lost Radhika.

So this track is interesting if Dev is kept consistent where he refused to let Radhika make that sacrifice. But Barkha's conversation with Rohan makes it clear that it won't happen that way. Barkha is definitely coming as Dev's wife in one form or another (real or fake). Barkha is going to remain in the montage because creatives have decided that she is the main character and are probably turning her into Vishaka as well as Tapaysa from Uttaran when she is neither.

Did feel sorry for Radhika today as almost all characters in CB2 are negative. The only two positive characters are Chenu and Mansa but both are weak mentally and socially. CB1 has two strong positive characters (talking about the first year only as I discount the second year) where Dev was supported by Dadima and Radhika by Shastriji. Here both have nobody in their corner. Dadaji is the biggest villain of all of them as he is a hypocrite and a user of people. So Chaya has to come back to give sense to Dev and Radhika.

So are they going towards making Rohan a positive character? Again it could be Radhika who reforms him after this fake or real wedding with Barkha. So Dadaji would realize that Barkha actually tortured Rohan and became like him, but Radhika is the one who reformed him.
