Bani comes back home and Preeto questions her that she didn't go to college today also. Bani lies her way through Preeto's questions saying that she called her friend to wish him happy birthday. She says she went to the market to get him a birthday gift but he said he didn't want a gift rather money and he would buy his own gift. She says that no one in this family trusts her or loves her and leaves. Preeto is upset about the whole matter, trying to place whether Bani is lying or telling the truth, as Bani leaves.
Kanwal, Gagan and Meeta are out visiting relatives and Gagan says there is a benefit of having off on a weekday as there is less rush. Gagan says it's been a while since they last saw Kanwal's family and Kanwal mentions at the engagement. Meeta see a pani puri stand and Meeta expresses she wants to eat it to distract her parents from thinking about her failed engagement. They eat and Meeta offers to pay. Gagan tells her he will pay but Meeta says it is the same thing. She says she saved some money from earlier and will use that. She offers the money to the vendor who says he doesn't have change so Meeta goes to get change. Gagan watches as Meeta goes to a nearby shop and tells Kanwal that Meeta's lost happiness and self-respect has come back. He says that Bobby was like a bitter pill and that pill has started showing it's effect and Meeta has gotten self confidence. Kanwal agrees but tells Gagan that she worries about Bani nowadays as Bani seems to have that same lost expression.
Gagan tells her not to worry as one found her way the other one will too. Meeta comes and gives the money to the vendor and they leave from there.
Jogi compliments Preeto's work and says that his clothes are just perfectly fitted. He looks at Rajbeers and compliments it too. Rajbeer removes it and changes into a pink shirt. Dhruv is upset that his ready made one isn't that great. Jogi and Rajbeer exchange looks and Jogi agrees with Dhruv but tells him it is fine. Dhruv says that Preeto will alter it for him nicely but Jogi tells him that he can't go to Preeto considering what happened in this house. Dhruv says that what happened with Preeto wasn't right. Jogi says he knows and tells Dhruv not to worry and both he and Rajbeer tell him to wear his sherwani as it is fine. Dhruv makes a tear in the fabric to dispute them and says that his method might be childish but what they did with Preeto isn't right.
Dhruv tells Jogi that he called Preeto his sister and she helped him meet Jassi and covered for him. He asks Jogi how can he just forget all of that. He says he doesn't expect anything from Rajbeer. but Jogi is another matter. Rajbeer tells Dhruv not to expect anything from Preeto either. He says he doesn't know if Preeto is innocent or not but if she is, she won't want his pity and if she is guilty then she wouldn't want to be confronted by anyone either.
Gagan and Kanwal come back home with Meeta as Preeto is contemplating. She rushes up to meet them and Gagan holds out the food he brought back for them. He calls all his daughters down and says they can eat together. As they are headed to eat, there is a knock on the door. Sonu opens the door and sees a police officer with a male constable and a female constable.
Preeto gets nervous remembering the lady threatening to call the cop. Bani is nervous thinking of what the shopkeeper said to her. Ishu puts her hand on Preeto's shoulder and Bani goes to stand behind Preeto. Gagan greets the police officer who asks permission to come in. Gagan allows him in. Preeto is nervous and so is Bani. Ishu takes Preeto's hand in hers. Kanwala worries if Bobby must have said something or made a report. Preeto says she knows they are here to make an arrest.
Everyone looks confused, and Bani looks at Preeto. The police officer says he's not here to make an arrest. He says that he's here because there is a scam goin on in colleges where there is a group of people illegally buying phones and selling it to their friends for cheap. Gagan asks what it has to do with them and the polices says he's come to look for Bani. Bani says she doesn't know anything about it. Preeto looks at Bani as she pleads her innocence. The police says he's not here to accuse her but rather ask her if she knows anyone or someone she has a doubt on because there were rumors of her classmates being in on the scam. Bani says she doesn't know anything, and Kanwal says Bani goes directly to college and then comes directly back home.
The officer tells Bani that if she ahs any doubts to let them know, and tells Gagan that he knows Bani is innocent after all she is Gagan's daughter and his father always praises Gagan and his honesty. He takes his leave but before going turns to Preeto and says that the police don't always come to make arrests and are there to help people as well. He leaves and both Bani and Preeto say a prayer of thanks.
Dhruv says if Jogi and Rajbeer won't come then he will go alone to see Preeto. Jassi comes and says she will too. She says that what her family did to Preeto was wrong. She says when Jogi and she were supposed to meet, Preeto took the blame on herself. She's not worried about losing the ring as it wasn't important. She says that she will come with Dhruv and apologize to Preeto on behalf of her family. Jassi and Dhruv leave.
Rajbeer says he has to leave too as he has to grab something from the bank. Jogi tells him to come back soon.
Both Rajbeer and Preeto end up in the same elevator at the bank without seeing each other. Slowly the elevator goes up and only Rajbeer and Preeto are left. Neither look at each other till the lights go off and the elevator stops. Preeto gets nervous and starts pressing the buttons. She feels claustrophobic and Rajbeer stays calm and tells her everything will be fine and tells her to take deep breaths. Preeto follows his advice and takes deep breaths. She hears someone outside and bangs on the lift door. The person outside tells them the emergency lights will be on soon, and leaves. Preeto asks them to let them out, but the person is gone already.
Rajbeer tells her not to worry and Preeto says she is afraid of the dark. Rajbeer tells her that she should be more afraid of the light. Preeto thinks that's a weird thing to say and asks him that everyone usually feels afraid of the dark but he says he's afraid of the light. Preeto says that in the light everything becomes clear. Rajbeer says that is the job of the eyes to see in the light but who can say in the light who is hiding behind what face. He says sometimes the light plays tricks on people. Preeto says he has a point but if one believes only that then people will stop believing in each other. Rajbeer says that people rarely believe what they see nowadays. Preeto says that is true too as people nowadays sometimes accuse each other without and don't believe in honesty.
The more they talk the more they feel that each others voices are familiar. Rajbeer takes out his phone and Preeto does too, to use the light and as both look at each other in the light they see each other. The emergency light comes on, and Preeto and Rajbeer turn away from each other.
