Jassi's getting a US remake (sorta...)

They're remaking 'Betty La Fea' for America. It'll air on ABC, and is being made by the same people as Desperate Housewives (although Salma Hayek is producing it). It's keeping the name "Betty the Ugly" too.

This will be great.

It's a comedy show, and is 45-minutes long per episode (and will have 22 episodes a year, if it's a hit).

They've kept Betty as a latina woman, with a latino family (maybe from Mexico), and Armaan is now called 'Daniel'.

It starts this September in the USA (and probably January 2007 in the UK).
