Chapter 53 – Karwachauth

Karwachauth 5:00 AM

Geet served Sargi to Juhi, Nisha and Pari. Raj, Rishab and Rahul sat along with them and fed them with their hands. Everybody was teasing Rahul a lot

Raj – "Are itna kya sharma raha hai…nayi nayi shaadi hai par itni bhi nayi nahin hai…kiss thodi karna hai just khilana hai"

Pari almost choked at her father in law's words.

Rahul – "Sharam karo dad…sach mein…you are even worse than my friends"

Rishab –"Le ab kya sharam karni hai…do do bach hain bade bade…no restrictions now on fun"

Nisha and Juhi looked at their husbands mortifyingly while they hi-fied. Suddenly Maan came – "Wow dad…careful please…you never know….please I don't need a younger brother or sister at this age"

Juhi was mad now – "Shut up Maan…and what the hell you are doing here?"

Maan smiled - "Kuch Nahin Mom….bas aiwainye main to aap logon ki help karne aaya hoon…aapke in shaitan patiyon se aapko bachane and moreover I thought koi to hona cahiye na Rahul ke saath". Saying this Maan kept hand on Rahuls' shoulder and picked up a meethi mathi. He took a bite and moaned with please – "Wow lovely"

Pari replied desperately wanting to change the topic - "Haan…Geet layi thi purani delhi se"

Maan – "It's really nice…lo tum bhi try karo" Saying this Maan took a piece and put it in Geet's mouth. He winked at her as she took the piece in from his hand. Geet blushed slightly at his romantic gesture but Maan was in no mood to let go. "So Geet kaise lagi Mathi"

Geet looked up to meet his naughty gaze – "Achi hai but I think it is a little too meethi"

Nisha – "Kahan Geet….bilkul perfect hai"

Geet did not hear anything more as she was in seventh heaven after having her Sargi from her Maan's hand. Love sang in her heart and her entire being filled up with happiness.

Maan noticed the glow of love spreading on her face. He could have done anything to keep his Mishti happy like that for entire lifetime. He looked at her lovingly trying to capture the glow and warmth visible to his eyes only.

Same day 7:00 PM

All the men waited for the women to descend down the stairs. Only exception was chayiji who was already present in the living room.

Raj – "Aur kitna time lageyinge yeh log….kahin inke aane se pehle chaand hi na aajaye"

Maan decided to tease Raj – "Kyon bade pa….badi jaldi hai…aap to mujhe lagta hai Rahul se bhi zayda bechain ho"

Raj – "Aisa kuch nahin hai"

Maan – "Ab kyon sharma rahe ho…waise sach mein…pyaar ho to aisa….haye kaash humein bhi badi ma jaisi koi mil jaati to hum bhi intezaar mein aankhein bichate"

Raj was ready to give his retort when bedroom door opened and Pari walked out along with Annie. As if on cue, Juhi, Nisha and Geet also came out from second bedroom descending down the stairs.

Everyone just stared at the vison of their respective spouses descending down the stairs. Geet had worn the saree Maan gifted her last week along with the jewelery set. Men moved ahead to take hands of their respective wives. Maan was openely drooling over Geet and she blushed madly finding his eyes on her admiringly.

As Raj moved ahead, Maan blocked his path. "Yeh kya Bade Pa, aaj Karwachauth hai. Kuch gift nahin denge badi ma ko?"

Raj said annoyingly – "Tujhe main hi mila hoon…why don't you ask Rahul"

Maan was not let it gonna go – "Oh come on, bechare ki nayi nayi shaadi hui hai…woh to gift laya hi hoga but I am sure he needs his privacy….but as you said in the morning…aapko to koi sharmane wali baat nahin hai to aap hi apna gift de do"

Raj moved ahead – "Maan!!! Koi na teri bhi baari aayegi phir dekhta hoon main"

Maan – "Dekh lena…I have no probs but abhi gift"

Raj sighed defeatingly as now everyone was circling them and egging them on. Raj reached in his coat pocket and brought a packet and gave it to Nisha who was feeling shy. She opened it to find an iphone4.

Nisha smiled "Wow!!! Thanks Raj"

Juhi laughed – "Aise nahin yaar…come on itna sexy gift diya hai to puppy to banti hai"

Nisha bent and gave a quick peck on Raj's cheek. Chayiji grimaced and muttered "pata nahin kya natak chal raha hai" She looked up to see Naintara standing on stairs.

Naintara's st – "I thought of coming down last to get all limelight and here they are busy in these old couples"

Cheering and clapping continued as Rishab also gave his gift. As Maan suggested, Rahul just begged for some privacy reliving blushing Pari from public display of affection.

Naintara finally came down – "Pata nahin yeh chand kab aayega"

Rahul quipped looking at Pari – "Chand to ghar mein hi hai …"

Geet smiled – "oh mera lover boy"

Maan – "Well while everyone is waiting, let's have some dance". Saying this he pulled back the patio curtains and opened the door. Light breeze flowed in and the sky was cleary visible. He dimmed the light and three couples swayed while Maan started –

Maan motioned Annie to come closer. He wrapped his one hand on waist and other on Geet's.

Naintara stood behind her mom. A sense of restlessness took over her as she saw Maan ignoring her totally. She felt left out as the man she wanted seemed to be busy elsewhere. She was looking quite beautiful in a pink saree but the man of her dreams had not even given her a glance. She hardened her stance "I won't let you go so easily Maan. Today you may ignore me but very soon you will be all mine"

She called out suddenly to break the magical aura which Maan had built bringing out attention of everyone from the love cocooned arms of their loved ones "Chand aa gaya"
