| | | Phonephilia: Rajshri Thakur | Visitors to Zee's Saat Phere set, often find lead actress Rajshri Thakur (who plays Saloni) hooked to her mobile between shots.
Thakur's co-stars reveal that the only thing she's possessive about, is her cell phone. "She is a total cell person. You don't want to disturb her when she's on her cell," said one co-star.
Emotional bonding
Rajshri laughed off her phone obsession, "Yes, it's true that I am very emotionally attached to my phone. My fianc, Sanjot has gifted it to me, so it is very special."
The actress had a white phone earlier, which mysteriously turned pink. "I loved that piece. Since I was holding it all the time, it turned pink. So I started wrapping it in a plastic bag and carrying it around on the sets. Soon, it became a joke, and I too found it a bit weird."
Her latest gadget has her confused. "It's a fabulous piece, but I'm taking time to figure out how to use it. It has so many applications and features, I'm lost." The actress says she isn't a gadget freak, and requires only three basic things in her cell. "It should let me make calls, send quick SMSes and allow me to listen to songs."
Hey, careful there!
Is it true that she doesn't let anyone else touch her cell on the sets? "This is ridiculous! During my shots, I give it to my spot boy to hold. But I get angry if someone tries to play with it or abuse it."
Rajshri, who earlier travelled to her sets by local trains, has recently bought a brand new car. "More people are recognising me now, so it became difficult to travel by local train. I have bought myself a Baleno, and it's quite comfortable," she says.
The actress has also made a new friend, in Apara Mehta, who recently entered the show. "She has some amazing stories to tell, and it's fun to talk to her." |
