@red: Many times even I wonder if she considers that way. Because after all, she has a limp and she might have some inferiority complex. She might have thought herself lucky that someone considered loving her and marrying her. Also, I think that could also be the reason why she always does a lot of poojas and prayers, and keeping a lot of fasts. Its as though she is trying to compensate the favour she received in her life (her marriage) with extra prayers, and with extra trust and love on her husband.
