KESAR AND GULAAL NEAR THE KITCHEN
It was worth watching this scene. Actually, Kesar heard them have the baby talk again. His love for her in not wanting Gulaal to go through any forced tradition made him speak up. He resisted when Gulaal tried to interrupt. He was ready to blurt out thetruth at that point. There was the determination in him to do just that.
When Gulaal pulls him away and says it was not out of her "majboori" that she was doing these, it shocked a little. He was trying to find a deeper meaning to her words. When she said that she has no problem in accepting the fact that she is his wife until the DV breaks and that she is only doing the duties of a wife, he was surprised, happy, worried and emotional, and also had hope in his eyes. His expression was that of mixed feelings in hearing that from her that she was considering herself as his wife for however short a period of time. That coming from her did shake him a bit.
When he gets called by Sarufui, he is still worried that she is abiding this ritual just because it was expected of her being a dutiful DIL of the family. When she makes up the story that Kesar did not want her to do the puja citing health reasons, he is again helpless. His expression clearly stated"here she goes with another lies to save the situation". When he gets mocked saying "apni patni ka pallu chhod", he is again feeling so helpless that he is not able to have a say by telling the truth and has no other option of going out to buy the puja items. The way he agrees to it and walks out totally dejected makes one sympathize with him.
KESAR AND TALLI
Though confused for a minute at Dushyant, Kesar's face lit up hearing Kunal. He poked fun saying he needs patience to be able to speak to Talli. He comes to Talli's room, hands her the phone, like a responsible cupid makes her talk to him, gives her a smile and peeks to have a look at her as she starts to talk to him, hovers around, without being ashamed or aware that he is intruding their so called privacy, happily waits for his phone to be returned, meddles with the jewellery box, gets startled by Talli's reaction, assumes it to be her need for privacy, agrees to go away but not before advising her to make it fast because he needs his phone back. He never misses a chance to trouble her.
KESAR SHOPPING FOR PUJA
Kear willingly takes a favor from Dushyant in requesting to be dropped. He was very much civil and was also adjustable in willing to go along with him without changing over if that would delay Dushyant. He is surprised by Dushyant's behavior and is also confused as to why he was behaving this way when he said"Inhe kya ho gaya hai?"
I liked how Kesar multi tasked at the shop. He was with the shopper bag, attending the phone call, concentrating on what the guy was informing about the money, wondered about Dushaynt's non-availability, at the same time asked the shopkeeper the amount to be paid and finally hung up the phone. In the process he did forget to take the balance money. The whole scene was very naturally done.
When he returned back, I liked how he readies all the Puja Thaals with the necessary items. The scene was simple yet lovely in the way he was being considerate in rendering that little help for all the women of the household. He jokes with Sarufui asking her not to equate the temple to the ration stores in terms of the never ending queue.
It was another round of helplessness for Kesar to be unwillingly a part of the puja but loved how Sarufui was being helped by Kesar and Gulaal in walking.
KESAR GULAAL MOMENT
All the happenings of the past are haunting him. He can't put up with the "majboori" issue for Gulaal in doing the ritual "rasm ke anusaar" when she also went on to touch his feet. Her accusation was due to that 'majboori". When she wanted him to treat her only as A FRIEND, came the family's pressure, that pressurized her to hide the secret for the family's sake, the pressure for a heir, and all the issues cropped up that weighed down as strain on Gulaal. He does not want that pressure on her and hence he is irritated why she has to pretend when she is not in the midframe to accept this relationship.
He decides to confront her, asks her the same question she asked him once as to why he was doing all this for her happiness. It was his turn to ask why she did all these for other's happiness when all she felt was suffocation in terms of this Deeyarvatu. I really liked how he rightfully confronts her, grabs her arm and asks why she was doing all this sacrifice for the family. I liked Kesar's "Hmm??", Kyun Gulaal, because he genuinely sought an answer.
When she answers him that this family was her utmost concern, it was not a new piece of information to him. He already knows that. So he asks her what would happen after few days when she leaves the house. When she says she has asked this to herself many times but can't come up with an answer, kesar's reaction was like" Yeah, obviously, it is expected that you won't have an answer"
When Gulaal says" Anjaane mei chaahti hoon, ki aisa kuch ho jaaye, jisse mujhe yehan se jaana hi na pade", it comes as a surprise to him that she is hoping for some miracle that would allow her to stay.
I love the expression here where Kesar's eyes has some hope with that revelation from her. He turns towards her, and directly comes to the point to give her the answer that it is only possible if she falls in love with him.
The exchange of emotions was a treat to watch. Gulaal turns towards him totally stunned because he has just voiced out or been vocal about the thought that is somewhere subconsciously registered in her mind. His eyes in the close up showed the truthfulness of his love, hope for their future together mixed with the anticipation of her reaction to this option
