From playing the lead actress' sister in Kitani Mohabbat Hai to playing the lead role in Mann Ki Aawaz Pratigya, actress Pooja Gor has surely come a long way. Amdavadi girl Pooja was back in her hometown after a long time for an awards function.
Life changed for Pooja in her first year of college when she was approached for Kitani Mohabbat Hai. Since then, Pooja has not looked back. "I had never thought I will take up acting as my career. I had just started with college when I got the opportunity. Everything happened by sheer chance and I am just going with the flow," says Pooja.
Like her on screen character in Pratigya, Pooja feels she too shares the same beliefs and principles in life. "I do identify with my character Pratigya. I think we are similar in a lot of ways. I have the same morals, beliefs and principles as her in my life. Both Pratigya and I share the same value system," says Pooja adding, "The only difference is that she is a lot more serious whereas I am very bubbly in real life."
When asked about her experience of working with her co-actor Arhaan Behl, she laughs and says, "Yes Arhaan has a good female fan following. Working with him has been great. Although Pratigya is his first show, he's been giving a commendable performance. Besides, he is very supportive as a co-actor."
Pooja makes sure she catches up on other television shows whenever she gets time. "I also watch Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. But Balika Vadhu and Sasuraal Genda Phool top my list."
While the actress took part in Comedy Circus, she believes, reality shows enable actors mint money. "Reality shows are all about making quick bucks, both for actors as well the makers. These shows attract audiences because of the different format," says Pooja.
So does she plan to take part in any reality show? "It depends on what type of show it is. I was approached for Khatron Ke Khiladi Torchaar but I couldn't take it up because I was supposed to stay in South Africa for 22 days which would have clashed with my show dates."
Quiz her on what type of shows she is looking forward to doing in future and she says, "I wouldn't do any show which will hamper my image." The actress who is equally passionate about dancing, says, "I love dancing. I think it is a great way to conquer one's fear on stage."
Speaking about her views on love and marriage, the actor who's currently dating actor Raj Singh, says, "I do believe in love, but I think one should get married only when one is absolutely sure."
Pooja loves the essence of Ahmedabad. "I don't get a lot of time, so I come here on special occasions only. I miss home-made food, my college, friends and especially the Municipal Market! In Mumbai, time flies very quickly, at a snap of your finger, whereas, Ahmedabad is so much more relaxed. I miss this city a lot," says the actress on a wistful note.
