You've summed up it so well in how they both get each other and understand each, and with Gulaal an instant wall comes up and more so now, coz of everything that has happened

I remember Gulaal told him once pretty sure it was when they met after 10 yrs, that he knows her mann more then she does... that he does, otherwise his faith and love for Gulaal wouldnt have remained after the truth he heard years back, or ever doubted as such in a big way to make him go off track completely

Its one the things that makes Kesar the Kesar he is today, in knowing how she functions and sees what she has done to herself esp that woman in her

I feel today Kesar needs to be everything that Gulaal was to him back then (obviously it was a difference coz she was also an adult to him back then)... Gulaal was just there for him, supporter, getting through to him in such a way to make him understand and see and tackle his fears (i go back to the scared of the dark scene) etc

Len..that is my fav Gulaal - young Kesar scene!! I have watched that scene so many times...when she urges him to take someone's name and he starts chanting Gulaal's name!! I swear I got all teary eyed😊

Ditto! I LOVED how they showed Kesar's realization...nothing overt...a simple question and a coin toss like you said...and then he just tells her...in that straightforward manner that is so Kesar...as if it is the most wondrous, joyous truth of his life that he's realized at last.

And yes I too think for Gulaal it will be a moment that will finally click in her head...and I have a feeling that it will again be another question that will be posed to her that will force her to ponder...just like Kesar did...they can both be eerily similar as we've seen from time to time.

But first, Gulaal too will have to go through all the confusions, the turmoil that Kesar went through...when he didn't understand why and how his emotions for her were so complicated...Also, Kesar has had that uncanny ability to finally simplify the most complicated of things...while Gulaal has the knack to complicate the simplest of things also...obviously because she's coming from a different space regarding this...

Reemz - add to that the fact that I never thought Gulaal was being what she is to Kesar, only because he is Vasant's brother, or Vasant's dream. Never in Vasant's lifetime, nor after him. In that way, he is like Talli to Gulaal. She didn't need a relationship to bond with the boy - although of course what sets Gulaal and Kesar vs Gulaal and Talli apart is simply the vast vast bridge of difference between Tali and Kesar themselves (including the girl/boy difference).

Interestingly, every time I look at this scene

I think of how Talli and Kesar have been pillars for Gulaal. The unshakable kind. Even when Gulaal wants to push them away (read: Kesar) or when circumstances arise that should affect the pillar's attitude (read: Talli) they still come back to be her support - and it's certainly not in debt of what she has done for them. Curiously also, both her less mature and 'child' pillars have grown up in the span of last few days so quickly, that are beating Gulaal to her samajhdaari atm! Plus, they have both taken her trait of sacrifice. Not as blindly and totally thank god, but they are emulating their only and eternal role model Gulaal - by falling in line with the proclaimed 'right thing to do' atm. Of course, it's only going to help that Gulaal herself has fallen out of line there. Anyway. I like the way that particular bond stands in this trio ...

LMAO that is a SCARY pic, Jzee🤣 Not very flattering for Gulaal I must say...lol

But yeah, I also remember getting that sense of two pillars of support while watching the scene...both Talli and Kesar holding one hand each of Gulaal's...supporting her.

I couldnt agree more - and its one of my faves as well, the moment he takes Gulaal's name - things change, you saw her emotion in just second - you saw his blind trust and faith in her, and the willingness to do what she says, go out out to the dark and then come back to her... and the sheer joy that he did it and achieved it

Ali and Manasi were brilliant in that scene👏

Also loved what you say about the simplicity of things, as in how Kesar realised his love for her and the coin toss... and that too everything he went through was why he finally realised and so on

JZee that is one scary pic 😆 - two pillars of support, yes i can see it and so on

Nur - i def agree with what Gulaal will have to go through to finally get to the point, and yes it will maybe be a simple question, that she will have to think about and so on.. something that falls into place and which i maybe see her fighting so hard against it

Beautiful post !They indeed are drawn to each other deeply , though one admits it and the other doesnt, and is infact not even aware of it ...atleast not fully...though Gulaal is now slowly but surely feeling the heat of Kesar's presence...whether she admits it or not ... whether she realises it or not..

Such a beautiful show, this Gulaal...portraying relationships so intricately...

I really like the way you call the portrayal as "layered" ..

Once again- nice post, enjoyed reading it and relived the show moments..
