Arijit Singh RETURNS to the stage for his first live performance post his retirement from playback singing

Arijit Singh is renowned for his romantic songs that have become anthems, eagerly awaited by fans. Last month, the singer's announcement of retirement from playback singing sent shockwaves through his fanbase, causing widespread disappointment. However, on Sunday, Arijit surprised and delighted his audience by joining Anoushka Shankar on stage in Kolkata for a live performance.

Arijit made a guest appearance at Anoushka's show, with a clip capturing the audience's enthusiastic cheers as Anoushka welcomed him. Upon taking the stage, Arijit, addressing the audience, confessed, "I am very nervous. Thank you for having me."

Anoushka, Arijit, and Bickram Ghosh performed Maya Bhora Raati, a Bengali track originally sung by Lakshmi Shankar and composed by the late Pandit Ravi Shankar. After the performance, Arijit shared that he and Anoushka had collaborated on a song, composed during a visit to her home.

The singer's live performance, his first since announcing retirement, has gone viral on social media, bringing joy to his fans.

Last month, Arijit shared a note on his Instagram, which read, "Hello, Happy new year to all. I want to thank you all for giving me so much of love all these years as listeners. I am happy to announce that I am not gonna be taking any new assignments as a playback vocalist from now on. I am calling it off. It was a wonderful journey (sic)."
