A near deaf pandit is being ushered in by Shobna. Dadi enquires the reason why he is here? Shobna says he will fix Laxmi's alliance. Angad, Dadaji & Dadiji are v happy. The Pandit irritates with hearing things wrong.
The pandit starts showing photos of prospective grooms & goes on to say that all of them are widowers looking for a sanskaari wife. Dadaji & Dadi are shocked. Kaveri comes & says that Laxmi is not ready so none of the grooms are ok. They send the pandit packing. Dadaji says that he doesn't think Laxmi will ever agree to get married. Angad says that Laxmi needs guidance…he is going to guide her. Everyone is skeptical, but he is hopeful that she will listen to her.
Laxmi is in the kitchen when Angad barges in. He rebukes her for the way she is chopping vegetables. He says he will show her the art of chopping veggies! She says you wont be able to do it, he takes it as a challenge & is shown cooking. Laxmi is surprised by it all. Angad asks Laxmi to taste what he has made, she is hesitant, but when she tastes, she is surprised by how good it is. She compliments him.
She starts cleaning up. They banter about how honest Angad is, bringing up Kaveri Amma wala jhooth. Casually he asks about her height. She replies 5'2". He guesses her weight…60-65 kgs!!She doesnt like this q…who would? She asks y r u asking all this? He says just reply to what I am asking. She says 48 kgs…he says are u sure? Girls have a tendency to lie when answering these questions…!! He has done a thesis. She says wouldn't be more than 50kgs. They agree to 51kgs. She again asks y r u asking all this? He says he needs all these details to get her married. She is shocked. She says this is a bad joke…but he says don't worry, we'll only look for prospective grooms first. She insists that she had declined in front of Kaveri the day before only, but he says she could have changed her mind in 1 day. He then asks why don't u want to get married? She says because its not right & he wont understand. He questions her decision & fear about society. She agrees. He says you too have a right to be happy & not worry about what others say. It is your life & you will take the ultimate decision, but please think about your own happiness.He gives a bit more of bhashan & then ends saying that he will make her profile, but once she is convinced, she should tell him & he will put it up on the net.
Kaveri is on the phone with Suraj. (He has shaved, guys…the frenchie is just a couple of days old now!)She is telling him that there is a difference in the 2 approaches(Suraj & Laxmi) to divorce. Laxmi divorced you for your happiness, but what you did…u made her life hell. She cant turn back, but nor can she go on! She blames him for Laxmi's condition. She expresses her disappointment in him as well as how sad Harsukh would have been if he was out of coma.
Suraj says he is not selfish; in fact he took the decision for Laxmi's benefit…but Kaveri says if this was so, then you wouldn't have gone through divorce behind our backs & then run away to SA. You are a coward. Suraj wants his mom to understand him. Kaveri refuses to listen to him & says that you don't have to come back for Laxmi any more. Good that she has got rid of you. You don't deserve Laxmi. I am there to take care of my daughter & see to her happiness. She hangs up. Laxmi was standing outside, listening to the convo, while Kaveri storms out.
Angad is practising darts, & Mahen is standing on the back, trying to remember something. Angad tells him about girls & how difficult it is to understand what they think! He wonders what Laxmi must be thinking…Mahen says I remembered. On asking, he says he now remembers what to remind dadi of…he says 17th July 2011, 8 o clock. Mahen promotes gold awards…but Angad gets an idea from what Mahen said.
It is raining & Kaveri is thinking about Laxmi's situation. Laxmi comes, & asks her to come inside as it is raining & she will get wet. Kaveri says sometimes it feels good to get wet. Laxmi sits beside her on the jhoola, takes her hands in hers, & asks you couldn't sleep? They talk about the reason y they both are sleepless. Laxmi says that she can face life as she has a mom's love. Kaveri says for how long? Laxmi says that she is skeptical about future happiness based on what happened to her. Kaveri continues trying to get Laxmi to agree to second marriage. Lots of metamophors here..not writing it all down.
But Kaveri continues to convince Laxmi & expresses her desire to see Laxmi happy. Laxmi puts her head down on Kaveri's shoulders.
Precap: Shobna is telling Kaveri that she has found a good alliance for Laxmi, so what if he is a divorcee & has 2 kids? Kaveri tells her not to enforce this on her daughter, but Shobna will have none of it. She is all angry. She says that I have not imposed anything, but found a good alliance for your divorced daughter. Laxmi & Angad are standing near the door, listening.
