Sonu could have saved me: Piyush Kapoor

Piyush Kapoor's ouster from X Factor can be tagged as one of the most dramatic eliminations on the show – the kind that ensures good TRPs to reality shows. Sanjay Leela Bhansali voted in his favour, while Sonu Nigam, from whose team Piyush comes, voted against his protg. "Sonu ji could have saved me but it was his judgment and he always remains true in it", says Piyush. Does he agree with Sonu's decision? "Amit (opponent in face-off) performed exceptionally well at that point of time. So I guess it was a fair elimination".
Piyush says Sonu Nigam did speak to him after the elimination and was very upset and disappointed. "He was repeatedly saying sorry to me", says Piyush. "However I don't give too much importance to elimination. I am really happy that my performances in the last two weeks were appreciated and left a mark". Piyush remembers his best moment on the show was when he sang inteha ho gayi in his blues styles and got a standing ovation for it. "Sanjay Leela Bhansali said it was the best performance on the show".
Piyush has a unique voice texture which, he believes, is his X Factor as well as a setback for him, since he can't sing everything. "I was scared to be in Sonu's team because I am not a trained singer and I was made to understand that it would create a lot of problems for me. But Sonu ji understands a lot of genre and every style of music. The one thing that I got to learn from him is that one must know every kind of music".
Post X Factor, Piyush will get back to his band that performs on heavy rock and angrez music. Ask him why he didn't attempt participating as a group on X Factor and he says, "As a band, we had small issues and we never planned or prepared for the level of a national TV show. Now I will continue to struggle with my band and bug a lot of music directors".
Will he participate in any other singing reality show? "I have nothing on my mind as of now but in future, if there is something as good as X Factor , I don't mind". And does he expect a wild card entry on X Factor ? "Not really, but if it happens, I will come back and phado everybody", signs off the young singer.
