Something missing

Guys

At the risk of getting chappals thrown at me I find that there is something missing in Navya these days. Do not get me wrong. I am a big fan and faithfully watch it twice each day but not with the same enthusiasm as before. Earlier I could not watch enough but now days I only watch it twice, once online as soon as it is out and the 2nd on TV at nite to see if I have missed anything.

I am still trying to figure what is different now as compared to the earlier epi. Is it the cute innocence of first love that the two were facing, is it the friends helping each other , the lovely songs and music with it. Hmm still not sure.

I must have watched the epi of Nimisha's engagement epi many times when Anant comes to Navya's building to force her to his home. Ever since the Shagun and his talk of engagement, him getting lost the show has lost its charm and lustre for me.

I still watch it everyday coz I love ANYA but...

I feel the show is dragging. I cannot believe that they dragged Navya's birthday for a week and half. At this rate if there is any major events like maybe Anya's engagment it will be dragged for a whole month. I do not understand why her birthday is going to be shown on Wednesday. Is there a reason? Yesterday's epi was nice but am not sure if it needed to be for the entire epi. Now Monday's epi will be dragged with Rama's talk of telling the family. That will go on and get resolved just before the precap. This makes me wonder if the CV's are playing for time.

Another thing I use to like Anant's I can do anything in the earlier epi but now that guy seems to be not sure of everything be it Rama Bhabi, his dad, to the birthday. It seems that Navya seems to be the brave one and taking all the risks. Are the CV's showing the reversal of roles? Now they show that Navya is the stronger one of the two and now they are showing the difference between Navya's family and his family.

Something is definitely missing in the recent episodes and if anybody knows the answer please let me know.

I think I better stop before I get booted out. Sorry for the long post.

Iluvnavya, you've hit nail on the head, I too have been thinking the same for the last few days that there is something is missing from the show these days...

Like you too, I have not been able to put my finger on it yet...

But it definitely is not the show that it started off being. Somewhere along the way, the show has derailed from its track...

It seems to me the pure magic that the show had earlier has gotten lost somewhere along the way, most likely due to the Shagun engagement track which caused so much damage to the show that it has yet to recover, not sure it will ever do... Although, I must say, "Ummeed pe duniya kayam hai", maybe one day that magic will once again return to the show, and I'll be a very happy camper then, but until, then I'll take the crumbs :(

I know a lot of people like the new Navya, most certainly better than the earlier rondu dhondu Navya, but what I don't like about her these days is her overly aggressive attitude. It is not the Navya that was shown in the earlier promos. The promo vaali Navya seemed a caring, sensitive, happy and sensible girl, who was certainly not the nervous wreck she had portrayed earlier, but at the same time I am not thrilled with this aggressive Navya either. I need a Navya that is somewhere between the two, just like the early promos. Hope you guys understand what I am trying to say...

And you're absolutely right about the role reversal, b/c I had the same thought too. Why is Anant being portrayed as such an indecisive character these days? Where is the Nimisha's engagement vaala Anant? That is the Anant that I want to see, not this fluctuating Anant. He is really getting a raw deal from the CVs these day and am not too happy about it. I loved the mature, sensible Anant, who also had a streak of possessiveness in him towards the girl he likes, who knew how to get her w/o anybody's help too. I really wish they would return Anant to being that sensible, sensitive and RESOURCEFUL Anant and not this foolish OTP 19 yr old.

But at the same time, I will ANY DAY take this light hearted AnYa track, than go back to the conniving Rama track. Unless the CVs show her converting into a nice, likeable person in the serial, I really don't want to see ANYMORE OF HER!!!! Am so glad that we got a couple of days respite from her, but like many of you said, I know she will be back and am NOT looking forward to seeing her again.

Sorry, post thoda lamba ho gaya, but this is the only place to vent our emotions about the show :(

dont worry abt chappals dear no 1's gonna hurl at u 😉
u may be right in ur place
The drag part is a part n parcel of every daily soap u just cant avoid it .I know where u r coming from .i have read in some articles that earlier b4 this whole daily soaps era when there used to be episodic shows the quality of content was much higher no drag no unnecessary drama but now in a daily soap u can expect the same .since the show has to air 5 days a week .the inception n culmination of a track cant be in just 2 days .they will drag but ya i agree in Navya the drag is bit more like the first hug of Anya which was shown in Sbs after almost 1 week we actually got the scenes .so cut long story short drags cant be avoided in these shows .The cvs feel it will keep us hooked to the show but the fail to realize the other side that viewers can get bored n lose interest

About role reversal lets begin with Anant ,till date i m not able to figure out his character .there has never been much consistency in his character or growth .the first 2 weeks we saw a different anant then from the project track we saw a different 1 from that day the character Anant was a bit obscure
As far as Navya is considered though irritating as the nervous coy timid crybaby but there was consistency in her character n now she is somewhere evolving i know some might not like her bit aggressive nature although she is but not more than Anant if u remember even during their recent fight it was Navya who broke the ice Anant was in his usual angry mood
Like i said b4 Navya's character is much more stronger Than Anant n blame the cvs for that
but honestly dear i m loving the current track its far better than that shitsters n engagement rona dhona track .Atleast now there is some teen romance college drama n scenes based on friendship .
I ll pick this any day than Shitsters n zombie family drama
Anyways a very good post👍🏼

I am a die hard Anya fan and wait patiently for the magic to reoccur

Actually I like the new Navya. I like her exploring her feminine side ie. aggressive, moody, angry, happy. The previous Navya did not have much expresssions going on

I am anxiously waiting to see the change in Anant's character and hope that Navya does not go back to being the old boring Navya

Thanks for the feedback. I too will pick the latest episodes anytime to any of the Shit Disturbers(sisters) episodes. At least this is cute and watchable.

CORRECTION!!!

I used the wrong choice of words before. When I said Navya being aggressive now, I actually meant her being so spoilt. She is practically demanding her family & Anant celebrate her birthday!! What self-respecting girl would do that??? I don't like her pouting like a kid b/c they are ignoring her b'day. Sorry, if it's just me, but I much prefer a more mature girl who can handle some disappointment in life, rather than act like a spoilt brat. Sorry, but I can't imagine a 19 yr old girl behaving in such a childish manner, but then it's been years since I have been 19 myself, so please forgive me if I am not in tune with the thought process of current teenagers :)

Also, about Anant's character being inconsistent from the beginning...
I thought they showed how his thinking, as a result, his character evolved over time. From being a product of that zombie family with strict upbringing, he slowly transformed into a fun-loving 19 yr old who found love along the way and accepted it. But ever since the Shagun episodes, his character seems to have regressed into an unsure, fickle-minded person.

But all said and done, I much prefer the post-Shagun episodes a whole lot more, but just wish they would align themselves more in line with the "Nayi Soch" of modern teenagers balancing traditional values, they had initially shown...

Hi iluvnavya😊! I think we've joined the " I Still like Navya but Something's Missing" club... I know what you mean when you say that that something's missing but I wish I could pinpoint what this elusive missing piece is too...This is the first serial I started to watch and as a result the first forum I've felt compelled to join , so I completely agree with your point of view...The initial episodes were subtly sweet but o so enchanting (Our forum screennames give testament to that!) and like you, I for one live in hope for another "Crossing The Street" scene 😍 ...now that was a defining moment for me!😳

I know that this is gonna sound dramatic but I'm going to do it anyway😉 -
Mujhe mera pyaar vaapas karvaa dooo CVs! (cymbals clashing/harmoniums bajaofying)😆

And what about Anant?OTT much?Kya character dheela hai?😆

Nice post iluvnavya 😊 ...I know EXACTLY how you feel posting on such a topic seeing as I did a similar one coupla days back (Its called Me no like it and u can find it if u scroll down...not that I'm promoting my thread ...take a look if u can coz there are similar viewpoints)...Its good to know I'm not the only one being contrary by not liking the last few epis when everyone else seemed bowled over by it...Takes courage, so- Bravo, bravo, bravissimi

Thanks so much. I did read your post few days back and may have commented on it too. lolz we may be the few who will dare to comment differently. I am a die hard Anya fan from day one and may have watched earlier epi more times than I can count. I am still in wait for the cuteness to come back. I think ever since the missing Anant epi and epi with Shagun we are seeing both of them more mature, more grown up. Maybe after the birhtday they may go back to the cuteness.
I want to see the decisive Anant phase again
