anytime a movie starring any bachchan flops, they blame everyone except themselves example :
Raavana: blamed editing
Buddha Hoga Tera Baab: Aamir/Imran

So...from what I see here, you guys are bashing AB because he said something against Imran or Aamir? I'm guessing Imran. I don't see so much bashing for other actors when they do the same. 🤔 Should I assume that this forum is filled with Imran fans?

I don't think anyone is bashing AB. People are questioning why an esteemed actor like him would stoop to make snide derogatory remarks against Aamir and Imran. People are questioning why someone mature like him can't accept that another movie beat his at the box office. No one is picking on his English skills either, but questioning his usage of advanced eloquent English in a very casual, ordinary, common man context.

😆😆 i think you haven't been around here too much...!

namecalling him (in this thread and in others) is only reserved for him because of the persona he projects... similar behavior from aamir would win him accolades and understanding... and he always has used the 'eloquent English', so it's not something new... perhaps, he prefers to write in that way... everyone uses different means of communications and words, that suit them...

yes, it's silly a bit to take a jibe at another movie just because his movie did not work... audience tastes are different... however, if aamir takes a jibe at the audience, it's considered excellent marketing on his part... double standards is what it is...! 😛😛

p.s. i am not defending amit ji here (because even i think it's silly), but merely commenting on the situation...

and it would be considred 'bashing', if it was any other actor... however, normal rules supposedly do not apply to amit ji...!

Precisely. As the proverb goes, "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt".

As a voracious linguaphile myself, I do appreciate an excellent command of the English language. But there is a time and place for such a thing, and an apparently ill thought out defence of your family's unprofessional conduct is no such place. Mr Bachchan would be better placed to actually read and understand other peoples' words and language before completely misinterpreting them. No one said that pregnancy was not allowed in Bollywood. But as others have said, if you know you are pregnant, why on earth would you sign a film that requires you to put yourself and your unborn baby at risk? And if you do, then why on earth won't you accept your mistake instead of clouding the issue with big words and bigger theories?

When Mr Bachchan writes a novel or poetry, he is welcome to use all the grandiose language he likes - I might even read it. For his blog he'd be better off not speaking like an extra from Shakespeare's Globe.

As for the Imran Khan jibe...I honestly fail to understand how a man in a position like AB's, with 40 years' experience in the industry, countless hits and super hits, hundreds of thousands of fans and followers and millions of accolades can be so cheap as to bring someone else's success down. And that too someone who is a CHILD in comparison to him. Does AB really think he is in competition with the likes of Aamir & Imran Khan? Is he so worried about the failure of his bhuddah movie that he has forgotten his past career entirely?! How can he begrudge an Imran a success - would he begrudge his own son one? So BBHTB didn't succeed - did he really expect it to? Does it even matter? 50 years from now...will AB be remembered for BBHTB? 😕

It's things like this that make me revile AB and his family. Don't know who they think they are, or why they have more of a claim on our time, money and attentions. Personally, I'd rather watch Imran.
