... Goes to none other than Talli the terrorist! [I couldn't resist the title - the SBS segment was a show stealer!]
Believe it or not, I could go kiss her for what she pulled off today. As an ode to star of the day, Talli, I want to say that all the times I have cussed her, hated her presence, denied her basic common sense, forget maturity - I take all my words back and shall gladly have them in all the meals this weekend!
When she spoke her first sentence telling him to marry her - I jumped the gun and assumed she was pulling off a Gulaal act of sacrifice (rolled eyes at her tillmy eyes felt like marbles on a smooth floor and called her a few extra names than usual) - deciding to subject herself to a loveless wedlock to free Gulaal from her jail house and avail upon the word Kesar had once given her. And don't blame me, because all this time on the show, that's all of the pea-brain she has given evidence of owning!
But how wrong was I! The reverse psychology - whatever I had talked of it in reference to Revji - has happened in its biggest, best example on the show yet! With a single instance Talli shall explain to Kesar what all the wiser, mature, genuinely well wishing members of his family, Gulaal's family and whoever else couldn't explain - why Gulaal refuses to accept him in her life as her husband!
I have to repeat - Talli was a stunner. She reversed roles, put Kesar in Gulaal's exact shoes, and put herself in all of Kesar's element - and lo! Came rambling out all the billion answers Kesar had been seeking these lost helpless tormented days! He answered his own questions - why can Gulaal not love him back? Why can Gulaal not move on and accept him? Why is it so wrong for Gulaal when all he expresses and feels for her is true love? Why is he the wrong one? Can't she see his pain? Doesn't she feel his pain? Sigh! Although the scene remains half executed, we all know the greatest revelation of his life (after his realization of love for Gulaal) is about to hit him.
He has finally been put into what can be called purely Gulaal's perspective and what so many of us have been saying - isn't it evident to Kesar how wrong his ways of persuasion are - shall finally dawn upon him in its full potential.
Never thought I'd see such a day in the showing of Gulaal - but Talli makes me so proud *wipes a tear drop*
đ No seriously. This was genius. This is genius.
Coming to the precap for Monday - and comes the moment that I can be so smug about - because in my very desperate ways to escape the sad thoughts of yesterday's episode, I had rambled about possible future tracks - and accidentally stumbled upon the chosen one!
I'm going to copy paste from the y'day's thread again, because the debate inherent to this future track now deserves a fully developed discussion. Amazingly, this option (of the three I had suggested) had not seemed improbable to me, but I have to confess I had thought of it as a long shot - given how far from giving up Kesar had seemed until yesterday. But in the drastic turn of events - and a brilliant Friday episode to close the week - events have taken a 180 degree course!
To quote from my old thread:
3) Here's one last shot. Anyone think that if Kesar just gave up - in every sense - and told her he had set her free, and she could go back, or live in the house, or be wherever she wanted, however she wanted without feeling obligated to Panchayat's decision, or for him - it would work? Perhaps - just perhaps, he will give up and propose calling the deeyarvattu off. Anyone think that will work? I don't how though. But still - at this point, her life is in a billion tangles because of his one zidd she presumes. If he did set her free - question is, what next for her? She can't be in that house, she might go back to her own - but what's the point .. she won't really know what next. Because last time she left the house - she had an aim - the aim was to avoid Kesar. What now?! It's like the time she told Kesar she had lost, and that she gave up and wo do nothing, and accepted all her decisions and whatnot was wrong, and that he could have his way - she would walk out, and leave his life in peace. Kesar's dilemma had been the same. He realized, he won his debate - but he didn't know what next. He didn't know what he had been fighting the debate for. It's exactly Gulaal's current predicament. She's fighting with Kesar every moment, to prove her point - but if he truly accepts defeat and backs off, does she know what she will do ahead? Does she even know why she's fighting him in the first place? To bring her back to this house? Which btw, is all she has to her life? It's not anybody's but Gulaal's own doing that she has no life or existence outside of this family and the house. Kesar has fought with her, and the world, to give it back to her, with due rights. What will she do when she beats him at it, loses what he gave her in the wake? It's one of the biggest questions she hasn't dealt with - among a billion others. But well.
And with that, I end today's post. Do contribute to the discussion like you always do - because A) weekend ahead B) this has to be one of the best kind of speculation to dwell upon, in a show which has a history of setting up some excellent debate pedestals.
Did I forget to say? I love the CVs of this show!
