Gosh never been in that boat ever!!! But hubby has tons of such annecdotes and I can tell one of those...
Hubby alongwith his pals went out visiting places in a car trip during the beginning of winter some time in November where it is brutally cold in Canada... They had hired a caravan to make things easy... They were a total of three... They took turns to drive as they wanted to get to their destination within a certain hours which were a total of 14-15.. Hence they started early and drove taking turns. Hubby preferred never to drink while driving and hence was the last to take up the night leg!! His two friends drove the day leg... and needless to say drank too... Of course within limits but soon one was extremely tired and sleepy, dropped off to sleep and the other was following the same lines. Hubby suggested that the other who was awake have a bath within the caravan so it would help.. so the other who was not sleeping went to have a quick warm shower...
Hubby was driving and suddenly noticed that something was making a flapping sound and which was bothering him. He stopped somewhere safe and got off to investigate... He noticed that the strap with which they had strapped the bicycles to the caravan had gotten a little loose. That was making a sound so he tightened it..
Now while he was doing this, the friend was done his shower and he noticed that the caravan had stopped moving... so he frowned and peeped in but did not find hubby in the seat. He thought there was some problem and little realising got off the caravan from the door on the right side while hubby after tightening the strap boarded the driver's side from the let at the same time and revved the engine and started the caravan leaving his poor friend stranded on teh side walk in shock!!!!
A little later hubby was wondering what was taking his friend so long was about to shout when he heard the blaring sounds of the siren!!! Frowning he stopped as his other friend too rose and came out as the cops stopped them... Hubby asked the officer.. "Sir I hope I was not speeding" At which the cop informed him to step out and asked.. "Do you know this gentleman who claims to be your friend.. we found him running on the highway dressed in a towel" Hubby shocked looked at his friend's deeply flushed face who was sitting in the cop's car in the back seat!!!
I still rofl at this incident.. his friend blasted hubby who still laughs... poor guy!!!!😆😆😆😆😆 It is not a roommate incident in a hostel, nevertheless it is friends from a hostel and thought to share it...
